Loving the taste. Very local. There is anise star and cinnamon used. The hor fun is very chewy and not oily. The braised duck leg is tender and love it that they deboned it. I purposely add chicken feet as the braising is very good. The seasoning is just nice, not salty and and oily. Definitely will go back to eat again

#02-33 Shi Hui Yuan Hor Fun Speciality 實惠園 A stall specialising in Ipoh Hor Fun, Shi Hui Yuan is a popular stall with multiple outlets around the country. The original stall is located at Mei Ling Hawker Centre and it was to here a visit was made. Since there were multiple options available, the best option was the Blissful Set. The Blissful Set is the best option as it had all the available meats that is served here such as Pork Ribs with Duck Meat and Mushrooms. There are also a few add-on options for those who wish for more. The Hor Fun was smooth with a sauce that was slightly herbal. The meats were succulent and great tasting, and together with the mushroom, was really yummy. Definitely a dish deserving of the Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore Award. Superb noodle with great taste of the gravity. Pork ribs very tender, fresh and just melt in your mouth. Comes with thick mushroom. Will be back for more.

Herbal note on its braising liquid. It came with 4 well braised large sized mushrooms. Hor fun had more bite than the smooth and slippery ones. The vegetable was perfectly blanched, retaining a crunch to it.

I grew up having this and Its disappointing that the dish feels “cold”. - mushrooms, vege which are added on are at best room temperature and even the chicken drumstick too.

Great horfun, surprised by the herbal taste of horfun and the frangrance of the mushroom. Punching above it’s weight. Reminded me of the treasure pot in Chinese New Year.

Mushroom with Braised Spare Ribs. While I did not really give the full thumbs up for their bib gourmand (4 years in a row) but I must admit that they have been quite consistent in their taste since 4 years ago. For those who are curious, you should give this a try as its a dish not commonly found in most food centres. October 2020 Roast Duck, Braised Chicken Feet and Mushroom Hor Fun. This type of braised hor fun is not a common sighting at food centres and one that has gotten a bid gourmand before means we should try it. I was disappointed however with the dry roast duck but the chicken feet and mushroom is intensely braised with their addictive sauce!

I used to frequent this stall years ago. After trying out the food at other branches, I felt that the taste is no longer the same. Coming back today, I don't see the original lady boss and her father. I still see the same chicken feet big pot and similar way of handling the food. Looking forward to the original taste but was slightly disappointed. The kway teow is still as good but not the chicken feet. Chicken feet is only soft but without the old flavourful herbal taste. Feels like having the body without the soul of food. No longer seeing the long queue too...
