Wow! What a queue at this stall. The order is process with the order and payment been made while you are in the queue and the order come out right. Reached the front of the queue and the food is ready. I ordered the fish slice soup and together with rice. The fish is fresh and the slices are thicker than most other similar stalls in Singapore. I di nice there may be too much pepper added to the soup. If you have the time to queue for the food, it is worth the effort.

The fish slices are thick and fresh, which is good. But the soup is bland. Overall, one of the better fish soup but not worth the super long queue at lunch time.

Food is great! Fish soup without fishy smell and they give a lot fish! However, will recommend patrons to come before 11.30am as the queue is extremely long after. But beware that auntie don’t like people to change order or requesting cutlery / chili etc.

The fish is so fresh and thick and the soup is very refreshing. The only downside is the crazy long queue. Be prepared to wait if you are going.

Amoy Hawker Centre is easily one of Singapore’s most popular Hawker Centre with plenty of famous eats. Yet among the Michelin Bib Gourmand hawkers here, no recommendations Han Kee Fish Soup easily has the longest queue. Why? I would say the best unbeatable Fish Soup at this price. Superb value and the healthier choice. No MSG no distractions, just clean and clear fish soup and fresh Spanish Mackerel. Lots of it. Probably more than you would have been able to purchase at the supermarket even if you are going to cook it yourself. So there. One. There was a popular blog complained of rude auntie. That was because he tried to change his order when it comes to his turn. If you queue here often, you will see how they work. Auntie collect orders and money ahead up to 5 or 7 orders (quite the norm with heavy flow stores such as Outram Char Kway Teow or Tai Hua Minced Pork Noodles) and you see she alternates between preparing your rice (if any), condiments all on a clean tray, count and collects change and alternates between lading the completed orders on tray and serve to the queue. In such an instance, a last minute change would absolutely disrupt her flow, hence in my view, definitely, Last minute changes should be disallowed. On my turn, collect my food on a clean tray and received a 'thank you' from auntie. How rude is that? Absolutely pleasant and a breeze if you ask me. Two. Soup is piping hot. Clean and clear, fried garlic fragrant, a hint of coriander, white pepper and nothing but Clean Fish taste. No solefish powder amped up, no cloudy evaporated milk, no greasy egg floss, and no distracting ginger or Shaoxing wine to remove fishy tastes, since the fish soup is absolutely Fresh. Three. The Spanish Mackerel fish slices. An absolute delight and a whole bowl full. I counted 8 thick 2-inches plus length cut slices in my small $5 soup. How are you going to achieve that with fresh fish is anyone's guess. Clean, white and has a springy bite, in Hong Kong almost what we call 弹牙,or bounce off the teeth. That's perfect mastery of blanching fish slices. Slices stay whole, do not break off the ends or flakes off its shiny skin. Tells you a lot about the quality of the fish used. Lastly some crispy Iceburg lettuce leaves included in the soup to add some crunch and lends some extra greens. Absolutely amazing if you're a fish person.

A big portion of thick and fresh fish slices with the medium fish bee hoon soup ($7). The soup is just a little too peppery. Consistent over the years. Has easily the longest queue at the hawker centre. Lady who usually takes the orders has a phenomenal memory - able to remember 20-30 orders without writing them down and can remember what you usually order even if you don’t come often and are masked up. The queue moves faster than it looks

The definition of bang for your buck. Soup is packed with fish regardless of the pricing - I’ve tried small, medium and large and they are all extremely worth it. Best fish soup I’ve had in Singapore by far, taking into account taste and value for money. Countless fish soup stalls only give you a couple of pieces but not this store. Their fish slices are thick and even the small bowl comes full of fish. Queues build up really quickly so it’s best to head on down early or be prepared to queue!
