Favorite go-to place to get ‘yong tau foo’ fix ... healthy, not fried ... plus excellent steam fishes and ‘la-la’ ...

I don't go too often as it is out of my way but when I long for a really good soul lunch. That's where I will head to. Try everything on the menu, it's that good!

Favourite Yong Tau Fu. I'm been eating from this guy since they were at the junction of Telok Kura n East Coast Rd. He also does private party long time ago at our former Minister of Finance and National Development, Mr Lim Kim San's house during CNY.

Authentic Hakka style. Taste like how my dad would make them.

Have been coming here for years. The regulars know that this place sells quality home made Yong Tau Foo in a non pretentious shop house. Over the years they have expanded their menu to include raw fish, yam nut and many fresh seafood items, mostly steamed so that you can taste the freshness.

Old school Hakka Yong Tao Fu. The YTF is steamed and taste comes from the dip. Love their steam fish. Their service has also improved as now they will come to the table to take order.

The founder started this food business as a mobile outlet...on his bicycles. Going up and down along East Coast, stopping for customers at their doorsteps. His son took over when the father passed away in 1971, replacing him as the breadwinner for a large family of 13 kids. According to his son, this Hakka YTF does not have meat in order to accommodate their clients of Catholics that skipped meat on Fridays. The pieces are not boiled in soup nor deep fried in oil. They are all steamed, taking longer to prepare for customers. Our portion was for 3 persons. We love the compact fish paste but one of us was disappointed with no mean option.

Nice and healthy Yong tau fu. Dishes here are mostly steamed or blanched and are not oily. The mee tai mak is also very flavourful.

Really authentic handmade Yong Tau fu. Definitely not your usual YTF so if u want bouncy fish ball and you want to select your ingredients with a wide variety of choices, this place is not for u. However, if you want something homely, you want comfort food, this is the place to go to. The fish paste in all YTF are handmade, beaten by the boss. Hence, it tends to be more chewy in texture. The sauces are made from scratch. The abacus is amazing. Consistent, chewy and served with spring onion and fried onions. Loved it. Even though I'm not a fan of bitter gourd/chilli with fish paste and tofu, I will still come back here because it is handmade (: There are other dishes too so if u come with friends, u can order them Came back for a 2nd time! The Ice plant salad is great! 4/5, super cool texture! The yusheng is 5/5. Loved it. Well seasoned and goes really well with the spring onion, ginger and red chilli The la la was awesome too! 5/5! Super big clams and nice soup! Portobello mushrooms also 5/5. Very well seasoned!

It's alright. Yam abacus is interesting. The clam was very fresh. But the Yong tofu was so so. I'm not a big fan of ytf anyway.
