Toh Bee Leng
It is one of the few cafes that has seats during the crowded lunch hours, so we decided to dine there. There are several signs posted around its premise that stated that no outside food is allowed.
We ordered the set lunch at $12.90 which came with a meal of rice or pasta and a beverage of coffee, tea or juice.
The service was efficient and brisk, but not warm and friendly. We collected the drinks from the counter but the food was served to us at our table.
The food was the heated up on the spot type and it tasted just normal. The ondeh ondeh cake tasted Lemak but it was too sweet and the cake was a tad dry. It did not taste fresh.
The coffee was normal. Coffee at Starbucks is much better.

Good coffee. Friendly service staff. You can choose to have skinny milk or soya milk for your coffee. They also serve food too. One of my favourite hang out place for a cuppa as their coffee quality is consistently good.

I stopped by this branch of Jewel at 4pm on a Monday to buy a "brew of the day", and was told it was sold out and against policy to brew more after lunch. This is, mind you, 5 hours before the closing time of 9pm according to the manager. I was then told it wasn't policy, it just wasn't practical. Certainly it must not be practical to lose customers either.
You know where they'll always brew a fresh pot of brewed coffee, no matter the time? Starbucks.
Certainly prefer that to buying a coffee for double the price at Jewel. Here's a photo of the last coffee I'll buy there:

Extremely packed during lunch hours but it is good they refrain people occupanying the seats for doing their work while office executives like us who have limited lunch hours not being able to get seats for a short coffee recharge. Baristas are friendly and coffee is good. They have 2 different regions of coffee beans to choose from which is another plus point!

Super rude cashier, wasn’t friendly at all. Took my order with a rude tone. The barista who made the coffee was no better, did the latte without any effort (simply poured leftover milk in) and thus my latte coffee was not even luke warm! Then she simply shoved the 2 cups of coffee to me. When I asked for a coffee tray, she stared at me, hesitated for a while before throwing me a tray. Wow, not sure if this is Jewel standard of service.
