Review Shi Li Fang - Singapore

SHI LI FANG outlet at Lv 7 of OC is a quiet place for dinner, solo or in a group. Service staff is very hospitable and always around. Food is good quality for the price. 3-for-2 offer is worth it.

As usual with the typical ShiLiFang, the broth is quite flavourful for the price. Do try the tonkotsu broth and the tomato broth. Service is a tad slower compared to typical restaurants though 😂, there's not many people in this Somerset branch, yet it still seems like they don't have enough people to serve the customers 😂 ... Also, one good point to note is that the fish used is not dory! 👍🏻

Wallet friendly hotpot at a convenient location! There are set meals for 1 or 2 pax where you can choose the meat, vegetables and soup base. Feel free to add on ala carte if you think you need lore meat! Overall it’s worth it for the price if you’re ordering a meal set.

Used to be a fan of this place. Loved their value for money set meals, delicious broth and tasty sauces. Therefore with the relaxation of covid measures and a respite in the number of covid cases in Singapore, we specially planned a trip to this restaurant. Was surprised that the shop was relatively empty on a weekend and we got seats immediately. This was different from the past where we had to join a long queue just to dine in on weekends. Upon looking the menu, we suddenly knew why the shop was not busy - they have revised the pricing of their meals. Their set meals have increased by almost 30%, from $9.90 to $12.90. Prices of their drinks and sauces have also increased. Although it is still not as expensive as some other hot pot establishments, we will not specially plan a visit to this place anymore due to their not so attractive prices. This place is not so wallet friendly anymore. A simple meal for one now costs about $15 - $20 if you also order their drinks and sauces. The jump of 30% is too steep. At this price point, it is not expensive, but neither is it value for money. At this price point, there are many other restaurants that we can go to.

Very good value with a wide range menu with lots of set meals and a la carte options. Very good location above Somerset MRT. Very good staff service!

Shi Li Fang located on the 7th level of Orchard Gateway. It is much affordable hotpot as compared to Hai Di Lao etc. This 2 pax combo meal is $51.90++ with free 2 items and if you were to order their individual lunch combo meal, it is $18.60++ with 1 free item. They have individual yuan yang hotpot which means each person will get to order 1 - 4 different soup bases additional cost. The collagen chicken or pork bone soup is my favourite! I received a free toy as well and the dipping sauces are great.

50% discount for seafood, so we didn’t expect much. But we are very disappointed when we see the pomfret, all come with BONES! No Meat at all. 😤😤😤

Went to this outlet on 4th of July, 8pm after receiving their pamphlet to have dinner but was greeted with an unpleasant attitude and service from their staff. Asked the waiter (wearing a black watch) for the $9.90++ menu that was on the pamphlet but he gave us something else and I had to asked for it again. He handled it reluctantly and gave me a table near the kitchen when there’s clearly a lot more empty seats. Not only that, the utensils were very oily (i.e stains were seen on the chopsticks). There was also a dried chilli flake found on the spoon. So much for cleanliness. Nobody attended to us when I asked for a refill of soup, not even the MANAGER. Everyone was avoiding eye contact from me, keeping in mind that there weren’t a lot of customers then. They were literally oblivious to our request. Furthermore, their staff didn’t bother informing us that the vegetables were currently not available despite asking for it nicely. The manager practically gave an impatient reply too. Also, I noticed that there was a vast difference in the staff’s treatment between my table and the one seated right in front of me. Just because they ordered a lot more and at a higher price, it does not mean that the service could be so dramatically different across the board. (ie. The waitress and waiters would automatically helped them refill their soup/drink in a very efficient manner). Additionally, they were rushing/pressuring other customers to order despite knowing that they are closing soon. If they are going to close for the day, why are they still accepting them in the first place? Lastly, when the first bill was handed to me, I politely told the manager that there was only 1 sauce instead of 2. She acknowledged the error made but did not print out a new receipt for me to double check it. Neither did she mentioned the revised amount. I took the initiative to ask her back but was given an unwilling reply from her. Is this even the basic respect for an experienced staff to treat customers like that? Just because I ordered an affordable meal instead of a luxurious one, I was being treated very unfairly. I am here to have a meal, not to receive such unprofessional attitude from your staff. It clearly does not reflect well towards your establishment in this F&B industry. This is frustrating. It is going to be my last time patronising this outlet. What a bad and irritated night to end off.
