A sham! Ordered their sashimi set for $27.60 and it came with 6 pieces of fish! Which by the way consist of 2 slices of salmon, one piece of swordfish and one slice of tuna and two other white fish - definitely not premium fish. And only 6 slices! Ridiculous! (Pic attached)

Place used to be pretty good. But obviously standards have plummeted. Had the tatami iwashi. Was very ordinary - was too thick and not very crispy. Pitan tofu was pretty good. The tonkotsu ramen had tasty broth but noodles were overcooked and portion was small. Costs $14.90 and presented in a big bowl but portion was comparable to a $3 bowl of wonton noodles in a hawker centre. Char siu was like 50% fat. The picture of the ramen was taken before I had eaten any of it.
Worst was the spicy spider maki. Costs $16 but roll was skinny with only a tiny core of soft shell crab. Rice used seemed to be ordinary cheap jasmine rice which was sticky and unappetising. It’s hard to go wrong with maki but Kuro Kin sure got it wrong. Worst maki I’ve ever had. Even the budget conveyor belt joints that charge maki at a fraction of the price do it way better.
After the meal and after paying, I told the chef the standard of food was dismal but his response was “ok, ok”. The waiter told me the previous chef had left and this one was his replacement.
This rip off of a restaurant charges premium prices but produces subpar food. Don’t waste your money here.

Tried the Bara Sushi. It was very fresh, especially the uni. Wished there was more of it though. The wagyu was pretty good too but slightly pricey...

Ordered a plate of seafood fried rice. While I understand the pictures in the menu are for illustration purposes only, what came was unexpectedly disappointing. There was no seafood per se except for a few chunks of fish. It would have been more apt to call it fish fried rice. There was too much chopped garlic in the rice and it wasn't cook properly, hence, the raw taste of the garlic was really quite awful.

We walked into this restaurant on a Saturday evening at 7pm and was the 3/4th guest table at the time of making order. Despite there weren't very crowed, food presented in a very slow manner. Four of us dining including a kid and dish was only brought out after the previous person finished eating! At 8.20pm one of us had a bowel of white rice sitting in front of him and still waiting for his dish to come out. The table next to us came later had already finished and left. We tried to call help but staff just seemed very busy walking around no one care we waved to them. Be fair the taste wasn't so bad although they are a bit over priced. The service and delivery are certaintly a huge disappointment and we will never return.

Nice ambience, good food and good service. Abit on the ex side though.

The sashimi disappointed, the service not there yet.

Was there a year ago on my wife's Birthday. Food was great. Read reviews for the past year and was bad. Hesitated but we went again anyway. Heard a new management took over and the experience there was awesome!
