The menu is really unique and creative. We had the sourdough, zucchini flowers, tartare and beef tongue sandwich. All were delicious. The beef tongue sandwich stood out. I also loved the sourdough and butter, super crusty and chewy. Impeccable service and the interior is really beautiful. Great place, would return again
Food was delicious, flavours was amazing and love the casual dining experience. Would recommend seat at the chef’s table if you have the chance. Get the beef tongue sandwich and the endive salad which is a solid 10/10. Would love to give five stars rating but the let down was during the remaining minutes at the restaurant, of one the server Rendall was rushing us to leave the table. I do understand the 2 hour duration dining but to rush us and while we havent finish our drink is not nice at all.
Made a reservation for 2 pax on a Friday night. Since the place is quite small, do make reservations before heading down. Highly recommend the onion dip, a must to order. Pork was perfect too, so tender.
Love the overall ambience of the whole place as it gave a very chill vibe.
Would definitely visit again.
I've had these photos for a while but now as I'm looking through them to post this review, my mouth is watering.
First of all, service is amazing. We got seated by the bar and the staff was so engaging, knowledgable and pro active. When we showed some interest in the various gins and his preferred garnishes, he did not hesitate to let us try some even though we weren't planning on ordering!
The quality of the food is incredible. Every dish stands out on its own and I think the menu changes daily/regularly so I'm pretty interested to see what they have to offer.
Favourites of that day:
- Cured Trout had a very good balance of textures and flavours
- Sweet Potato Mochi was just divine when it was cold and fresh but became less tasty as it warmed up to room temp, so my advise is to eat it asap
- Beef Tongue sandwich is not something that I had as I was already beyond full at that point but my partner said it was great
Will definitely return!
Foie gras is a must try!! Never had something similar before. The shredded foie gras taste like ice cream, melting in my mouth.
Beef tongue sandwich is quite good as well. A bit too heavy even I just took 1/4 of it.
Octopus is not impressive.
Was planning to try their signature chicken but was not available. Will try that if visiting again.
Overall food are good. Portion is quite small. The staff served our table were not smiley and welcoming.
Decided to make reservations at Le Bon Funk for the husband’s birthday lunch - was quieter on a weekday afternoon, and we greatly appreciated that the restaurant took note of my request for a low table.
We had the sourdough with burrata with pumpkin seed gremolata, smoked trout and celeriac, foie gras on cedar jam toast, wagyu tartare with chips, grilled octopus with smoked paprika and Chef Matin’s special kombu tart with milk ice-cream.
Enjoyed the experience and the quiet corner we were placed at. Service and recommendations were impeccable. Wine was interesting - the rosé was bright and clean tasting, and went well with the items ordered.
Will be coming back to try the pasta next!
Food is really really good! We've had the lamb previously (which is superb btw!) so decided to try the pork and beef this time round, along with the foie gras, beef tongue sandwich (again!), burrata cheese (again!), onion dip... Everything was pretty darn amazing!!! Needless to say, we'll be back for another round soon! Oh and the desserts are divine, so be sure to save space for that too!!! Service initially was a little slow as it took a while to get our table, BUT once seated, Darren was superb! Friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, very attentive too! He's such an asset to the team! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
