Average braised duck, pork and offal shop that sells rice, noodles and kway chap. The herbal aroma from the soup is definitely getting fainter. Overheard a staff lamenting that prices of ginseng had gone up 30%. I normally eat kway chap or dry duck noodles. For sure I have tried better and more succulent braised dishes, but the dishes from this shop are considered happily edible, and staff are efficient and helpful. Will continue to support neighbourhood shops!

They have closed down their main branch. And converted to this stall within a coffeeshop. Food is unlike before. Rice is hard, nothing special. Authentic taste as per earlier pictures are no more.

I’m used to eating from the Yu Kee franchise/branch outlets and have found quality to be relatively consistent and good.
As my first visit, I notice a difference in the meat quality. It is nice and fatty and served in thicker unflattened pieces. However, I thought that the rice was less flavourful and merely salty. The sweet and sour (or Thai style) chilli that I’m used to from the branch outlets was not available here. At this outlet, it is more of a chilli+vinegar mix which I didn’t like. It was not served with salted vegetables as well.
Will likely visit again to try other items. Hopefully I’ll get to try the soup during my next visit.

Braised rice tasted dry and not fragrant. Duck is dry. Portion is small. Not good value.

Ordered kway chap . Portion was very small. Ordered an egg, but only have a quarter. Intestines were too tough, overcooked.
Ordered fish cake, only gave a few small thin slices.
Not coming back for kway chap at this stall.
Too commercial, only cared about profiteering from customers.

The duck porridge tastes good. Quiet and clean place. Had an enjoyable breakfast experience here.

Great braised duck - not too salty and not "sweet" like the regular Singaporean fare. The duck liver and gizzard wasn't bad either. Place is clean and parking is easy with a public lot just nearby.

We have been buying from the Joo Chiat outlet since we have moved to the area. I have to say the food standard is consistent and the service of their staff has been pretty friendly until I met a lady today. At some point when we takeaway duck rice, we were told by their staff that soup was charged a dollar. We asked but it is free when we eat in. They said lady boss said because of the plastic containers it come in. Fair enough I thought since it is quite common for stalls to charge 50 cents or a dollar for the plastic containers for takeaway food. So we have been bringing our own plastic containers for soup when we takeaway for the recent couple of years. Today we met a lady who is their superior who insisted that there is no such thing and it's a joke that the soup is free very loudly infront of customers. I was angry but told her it's the eve of lunar new year so I am not arguing with her but this was told to me and we have been buying without a charge on soup until today. She then went on to say how is that possible for no charge on soup and chided the staff who kept quiet. If we had eaten in, the soup would have been complimentary, why should I have to pay when I take away then?
Your food may be good but today you just lost a customer who had patronized your shop for the last 5 years. I am also sure the lady whom kicked a fuss today didn't care if we come back or not.
