Biryani (SGD $7) @ Marhaba Restaurant.
.
This murtabak and biryani speciality stall has been quietly operating for nearly 3 decades, since its founding in March 1994.
.
The 2nd and 3rd generation family-run business serve a distinct Singaporean style biryani - lightly spiced basmati rice, with predominant flavour from the spiced meat and curry gravy.
.
The rice is alternating fluffy and clumpy, carrying a delicate grainy sweet spice aroma that perfumes the air.
.
The richly curried mutton is fall apart tender and moist, with deep meaty savoury salty spice flavour. The pairing of meat and rice is delicious and enticing.
.
The outstanding achar, a mix of crunchy juicy cucumbers and pineapple, lend a bright and refreshing contrast with vegetal fruity sweet flavour. Yum.

I have eaten here many times over the last 4 years. The service has always been pretty good and the quality of food has always been decent. I regularly say Hi to the folks working here even as I'm walking past. They are very kind and hard working folks at working folks and I'm very happy to support their business.
The mutton briyani is particularly delicious here.

Chicken murtabak tasted great and we really enjoyed it as the crust was crispy thin. The teh tarik was a killer. The sweetness was to our liking and we ordered 2nd round for the drinks. The crew were very friendly but i find the place too cluttered & probably need to improve the ventilation. Overall, we had a great experience w the food & service.

Simple, tasty and value for money local Indian and Malay food. Very heartland. The lontong was hearty for $4.50 with tofu and bagedil (potato fritter). The asam fish was $3.50 and we had it with the prata. The latter had a nice balance of crispiness and doughiness. When I was there for breakfast, the prata came hot and freshly-made.

Good: As the name suggested, Murtabak was good, no complains there, gave us 3 different curries, chicken, fish and dhal. Friends had mix food, reasonably priced as well. Service was on point, lady was really nice. Teh Tarik - happening! Hahaha
Bad: Sambal Kangkong. Not very good in my opinion.

Purchased 2 of their fish cutlets. Both have fish scales but one has 30% of the cutlet covered by scales

Very good “murtabak” As the local Malay called it, at this place. Tasty and delicious. it’s actually a big “Prata” pancake with curry sauce. Very fast service. Not to miss when in Singapore.

Ordered:
Cheese Mushroom prata: I didn't see or taste any cheese in the prata, not sure why... Coz I asked and they said it has cheese.. But it still tasted good.
Egg onion prata: tasted great.
Portions of prata were very big... You can ask for refill of curry also.
Had hot milk coffee too.. It was good, but it was too sweet. So wud suggest to ask them to put less sugar, if you order it.
