Went to get the cakes based on the good reviews I've been hearing, turns out not only the cakes were as great as it was mentioned. But most importantly, the flexibility and the extra mile that they went to ensure the cakes were delivered in time were very appreciated. Give it a go if you haven't.!
Bought the chocolate fudge cake for a party tonight and we all loved it - the shopkeeper provided good service too! I like the quaint interior of the cake shop and will definitely swing by for cake and coffee!

I want to comment about the Small Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake. It is absolutely mouth wateringly delicously Perfect.
I wouldn't come to Matt's chocolate factory for a fanciful looking cake with colourful design and a cartoon figure on top. The chocolate cake is simple and elegant. No frills, no decor added or needed. For those looking for rainbow colours, do try somewhere else.
I took a spoon, scraped the top layer of chocolate cake. When I put it in my mouth and let my tastebuds do the work, I heard the "Hallelujah" chorus singing in my head. I had to pause for a while to indulge in that moment. The chocolate is slightly on the bitter side and I would describe as extremely fine. Can definitely taste the quality in the chocolate.
I took quite a bit of time to savour this rich choclate cake. Do not be fooled by its small size, it does pack a punch and can make you feel full and contented. I would consider $4 for the small chocolate fudge cake good value because of this.

I was initially skeptical as good chocolate cakes are not easy to come by and many places got it wrong. Hence I was pleasantly delighted by Matt's original chocolate fudge: they've got the balance between bitter and sweet, texture and the moistness all correct. Yummilicious.
I had an amazing and splendid time at Matt's. Some of the best desserts I've had : Tiramisu and Chocolate Truffles. The truffles were chewy with a slight pinch of bitterness from the cocoa followed by a sweet sensation. I won't hesitate to purchase another box. Worth the price!
The soft sponge cake accompanied with the rich yet not overpowering fudge is an excellent combination, especially for chocolate lovers. The cookies were of an appropriate size and does not leave behind an overly sweet aftertaste. Definitely value for money and worth it to make a trip down to try!

Tried their signature chocolate fudge cake and truffles. A sinful and worthwhile indulgence. The cake is a must-try as it's very moist and chocolately but not overly sweet. For those who likes the taste of liquor, the truffles are creamy with a distinct tinge of liquor taste. will definitely try it again with colleagues and friend!
Loved the chocolate fudge cake I tried at One Raffles! Very rich and not too sweet. Not usually a guy for desserts but I must say I was quite impressed.

I had an amazing time at the Matt's The Chocolate Shop. The service crew was very welcoming and polite and the food served was very delectable. I particularly enjoyed the Tiramisu (Double layer). Tastes amazing, worth the 10 dollars spent! The chocolate truffles were a surprising treat as I did not expect the taste of the truffles to be sweet at first. Worth it to purchase the truffles (especially for groups of 4)!

Not a place for groups to sit and chat, as it isn't furnished to be a cafe, so don't expect to be greeted with a drinks menu like we did. Chocolate cakes are good, I must say, and rather enjoyed their tiramisu too.
i’m not the biggest chocolate fan but matt’s converted me. the best chocolate cake and truffles that make all other posh chocolate places look like jokes. but the other reviewers are right. the published operation hours are out of whack. i’m just lucky i live across the road. and still, sometimes i get disappointed that it’s closed when it’s supposed to be opened. the utility of the space also seems a bit of a waste. i can imagine that if it operated with better service and spruced the dine in area a little, it would be magic. but till then, i’ll have to make do with divine chocolate in cheap plastic take out boxes.
went down to try out the chocolate cake that was rave by so many bloggers and was pleasant surprise by every mouthful of chocolate cake mix with fudge. it was worth down to every cent that was spend on it. i would return if my work doesnt end that late :( hope to drop by soon to try out that truffles which i heard has just the right tinge of alcoholic taste. so looking forward to it.
Having one of those days when you have an adventurous spirit and stumbled upon this cafe along an interesting stretch of shop houses in Tanjong Pagar. Greeted by the aromatic fragrance of latte. Particularly enjoyed the chocolate fudge cake. Really moist and rich. Tried some of their truffles as well and am pleasantly surprised by the distinct tang of liquor. Altogether a satisfying experience.
