Last week I organised a brunch with a big group of people, Soul Kitchen Singapore did a brilliant job catering it, we loved the place, food and service.
The food was wonderful, everything was delicious. Authentic american Southern homemade food. Super tasty, good size of portions.
We were also very pleased that the chef added to the menu "mexican tamales". Since we were a large group of international people (including latinos), we enjoyed that nice tasted of our food.
The cakes are super nice, I have tried strawberry and lemon cake and is wonderful, but that day, we got to try "tres leches" cake, and it was a hit, delicious, perfect consistency and flavour.
The place is very clean and tidy. (Clean enough for one of our kids running around barefoot!). It is kids friendly and at the same time, perfect for a casual lunch/breakfast with friends or colleagues.
The service is excellent, the staff is fast and very friendly.
I love the items they have for sale for charity in Cambodia, beautiful chop boards "Vandywood". I got 3!
Thank you very much Soul Kitchen for making that special day remarkable. We are very satisfied and definitely I recommend it!
I have been here quite a few times and every visit leaves me with a happy tummy and mood. The staff are friendly, enthusiastic and very attentive to the needs of their patrons. The food is amazingly good! Their menu is small with only 2 food items during lunch but don't let that fool you, because the quality and freshness of the food is impeccable. The food there is very delicious and has well balanced flavours. The decor is refreshing and clean, kind of simplistic yet stylish at the same time! Soul Kitchen is a real hidden gem and great find!
I've tried possibly every restaurant/cafe offering southern food here in Singapore and I can safely say that THIS PLACE serves up the most authentic "country food". Pretty reasonably priced too, with a very decent portion enough to leave you contended, with a smile.
Biscuits & Gravy are a must! Their gumbo is pretty hearty and unique too. Desserts are a unique and quite affordable. Very hospitable and friendly people too.
Overall, I really loved it!
(the ambience of this place nestled far away from the hustle and bustle of city life is also )
We had our three year old's birthday party here and it was wonderful - it was so easy to organise since soul kitchen handled all the details and all we had to do was ok the menu. Our guests, both the little ones and adults, loved the spread. There were comforting old favourites like pigs in blankets (how on earth do they stay so crispy even after taking them home?) and new favourites like the gumbo that everyone loved. The chilli sauce was also something that got lots of raves. And of course the wonderful three tier cake. The birthday girl loved how beautiful it was and guests couldn't get enough of it.
Portioning was generous yet sensible. We were so happy that they held back some food for us to take home as they knew that guests were already stuffed to the gills.
Service was friendly, attentive and unobtrusive. The venue was lovely - the high ceiling and the wonderful light into the place also made the ambience really nice. Great value all round. It wasn't expensive to book out the whole venue.
Home is where the food is! Cosy little place with heartwarming homemade affordable food, oh and pretty healthy too. Even a meatlover like me was bought over by their Vegan Mole Verde tonight. Their gumbo is superb too. could come here every week!
The little restaurant that's BIG on flavour! Next time I hanker for a taste of home, this will be the place - hands down.
Hubby couldn't get enough of the hearty "quack and cluck" gumbo while I, the vegan, was thrilled with the velvety roasted carrot and coriander soup. We'll definitely come back for more.
I've tried most of the breakfast items and most of the cakes and they are great. Chocolate cakes here are really good. Seafood gumbo and seafood crepe are really tasty as well. And the best part of this place is the excellent service and free wifi
Quaint little place that offers authentic food that’s freshly prepared! Their desserts are great too! Great tasting food, amazing service and well priced - what more could one ask for!
Finally got to try the food here and it sure didn't disappoint! I was very happy with the place, how the tables were placed diagonally so that one wouldn't feel too squashed up and boxed-in. Very comfortable place to be in! The staff were all super warm and friendly, and made an effort to go beyond serving you by stopping by to talk to you. THE FOOD = YUMS! It wasn't greasy or oily, and in fact seemed quite like a nice balanced home-cooked meal! The flavours were rich but not overwhelming, and portion was just right. Easy to finish and filling. Will definitely come by again!! :)
Soul Kitchen will always have a special place in my marriage. My husband (then boyfriend) and I used to have our weekend brunch dates at Soul Kitchen and we got to know each other better with every conversation while enjoying Barbara’s soulful cooking. Since moving to Tucson, AZ 6 months ago, Soul Kitchen is the only food in Singapore I miss (ironically it’s American food). But it’s more than just the food, it’s Steve’s hospitality and the feel good vibes of the cafe that keeps us going back. We look forward to eating there again every weekend when we are back in Singapore in 2020!
Great food and one of the best services. Totally worth my $10 uber ride to Upper Thomson. Will definitely return !
Amazing food with lovely owners! Highly recommend
Everything's so delicious I would live here if I could (that's the reason I keep going back for more). And you'll never get bored because there's a different menu everyday! The place also has amazing lighting that's perfect for Instagram-worthy photos. 😍
Fantastic food and very attentive staff, will be going back :) don't miss the bread and butter pudding dessert either!
