Excellent location for lunch!
Garlic Rice w Beef $18, perfect umami and texture. Garlic is on point yet subtle. I just wish the beef wasn't as tough.
Pork GingerSet $12, great value for what you get, the cuts are on the fattier side but the flavors are so good.
The sides and even cake you get actually tastes good too! For lunch, this place is of great value.
Had a good meal here with my friends, the price was affordable and food taste really good, loved the wagyu steak, asparagus, lamb chop especially and the garlic rice portion is quite a huge bowl unlike other places. Absolutely love this place, thanks for the awesome cooking chef and the good customer service, i will come back next time with more friends. :)
Super delicious Japanese food the raw sashimi is very generous and thick. Love the taste of the grilled cheese with avocado so tasty. Will definitely patronise again. Price is reasonable too. Staff are all very friendly and attentive
Authentic and quality teppanyaki in a cosy Japan themed restaurant. Ordered a variety of dishes to try which were all delicious and aesthetically pleasant. I'd recommend their fresh sashimi, steak cubes and sweet potato!! $$$: Not cheap as portions are small, but value for money for a special dinner.
Used to always walk past this place after having dinner at the next door Tendon and was kinda curious on how the food is.
Finally tried their Festive Omakase (with complimentary beer) yesterday and my friends and I were so amazed by the food quality, not to mention the hospitality offered by the staff!
Really enjoyed every dish and will visit with my other friends again!
Great hole in the wall place for generous portions of quality sashimi and great ambience. Affordable express lunches, seems authentic too with Japanese staff and customers. Nice enough to entertain, would definitely come back :)
Visited with a good friend of mine to celebrate his birthday. We ordered their beef garlic fried rice and chicken garlic fried rice lunch sets, grilled tuna pepper steak, half portion of A5 Miyazaki Sirloin, and their assorted mushroom teppanyaki.
The meal far exceeded our wildest expectations. From the start, the chawanmushi given in the lunch set was already stellar. It was subtle, well-rounded, delicate, and didn't have any hint of the fishiness that many commercial ones have with the inclusion of fishcake, or even the mild off-putting smell that comes when chawanmushi is done improperly due to overcooked eggs. With their superb chawanmushi as the starter, it set the stage for everything else to follow, and it truly wowed us.
The mushrooms were nothing short of spectacular, the savouriness, smoky aroma and expertly charred edges, along with the garlicky intensity that melded perfectly with soy and bonito and negi toppings, my friend couldn't stop raving about it.
The Wagyu my friend ate was, according to him, something that took him to heaven and back, with the richness, the subtle sweet-smoky aroma that was enhanced not only by the sauces, but by the roasted garlic and vegetables on the side, along with the fact that the chef managed to get a solid medium rare on a delicately cut piece of meat, impressed him beyond belief.
The tuna steak was also immensely generous in appearance, portions, and flavour. The avocado-based dipping sauce, paired with the heaps of fried garlic and negi, with the sweet capsicum relish on the side, each added their own pop of colour and flavour to the fish, which was delicately seared, juicy, fresh, sweet, and full of flavour with no hint of fishiness or overcooked dryness. The best tuna steak I've had thus far.
The garlic fried rice knocked the socks off our feet with no holds barred on the smoky garlic aroma, the abundance of meat in each of out bowls, as well as the delightful umami that came from the soy, pepper, and other seasonings. The portions were large, and the flavours were also equally prominent. My friend remarked that this garlic rice would probably rank as one of the best in Singapore, if not the best, for the portions, flavour and everything else.
The service was swift, friendly, and attentive to all our requests. The lady manager even provided us with small cakes as a complimentary dessert as it was a birthday lunch for my friend. Such small gestures paired with the reasonable pricing and stellar quality of everything we tasted, is simply hard to find in Singapore, and to that, I am grateful to Teppan Kappou Kenji and their staff for providing a truly memorable and undescribably excellent lunch for myself and my friend.
