A no frills restaurant in Toa Payoh. Situated just below OrangeTee building makes it very convenient for people to access. A nice place for a meal especially for the lunch crowd.
Food was ok. Good value as we often go for the set lunches. Option to upgrade to lobster bisque should really be considered as the lobster bisque is nice. Baked potato with kits of onions and sour cream is great too.

Give 4 star for service...
Not the food..
Their service crew are older folks.. so they tend to be more attentive to kids and old folks......
You go in... With kids..
They will get the baby chairs first....
And once awhile will come ask if anything u need.
But the food is plain so so....
The 1 for 1...
From 2.30 pm to 5pm.. is enticing..
But twice we went....
The beef seems very soft and both times my wife says that the beef has a smell..
I tried... It is like... The meat has been defrosted.. in And out of the chiller too many times.....
Not sure. . Maybe some experts can give their views...
Their coke... And coke light ...
Coke light is by the Can.. so they sell $4.
But the coke is $3. Pour by the bottle....
So be prepared the drink doesn't have gas...
As a chain western outlet...
Just plain...
Normal western.

Had the rib-eye steak and the signature. Loved the sour cream baked potato. Beef was hot and not too bad for medium well. Expect to wait a little during peak hour.

I'm... so... shockingly sad. :( Ordered a Medium Rare Fillet Mignon, it came presentable but when I tried to cut it, the meat was so tough. Took forever to chew as well. The picture below speaks for itself. I forced myself to finish it as it cost $30+. Really felt like crying as it was the worst beef I've eaten and I'm not even a "steak expert". Just want to warn future diners what they're in for - Very tough meat and microwaved vegetables.
(also, iced water is served with one ice cube lol)

Standard of the place has dropped overall.
1. First they did not serve (or even ask, for that matter) water. It was only after about 20 mins after we asked for water that it was served.
2. Then they forgot to serve us the soup that came with the set meal. After we asked they took awhile to verify with each other whether anyone did serve the soup. Eventually arrived after the main course did.
3. One of us ordered the steak well done, and it was so tough that he had difficulties cutting it with the steak knife.
4. For some reason they were reluctant to clear the table. Many service staff walked past and looked to see if we were done eating, but despite the obvious empty dishes, no one bothered to clear. When they served the coffee and ice cream there was not enough space on the table but yet the staff still tried to put the cups and bowls down without clearing, until we had to ask them to do so. Seriously?
5. The steak was supposed to come with slices of King mushroom. The plural only meant there were two pieces instead of one. And superbly thinly sliced too, at that. Have to admire the skill of the chef.
Will seriously reconsider whether to come back here ever again.

Cosy western food restaurant with great food. However some grilled cuisine requires chilli sauce or pepper to enhance the favour. The platter and apple pie is good. Overall not bad.

Jack’s Place has been around for a long, long while. But it seems food quality has dropped slightly over the years, albeit the food is still good and value for money.
The garlic bread wasn’t as crisp as usual, ie it was sagging a bit under its own weight. But it still tasted okay.
The lobster bisque and the soup of the day (minestrone) were both nice.
The steaks weren’t that juicy, to be honest. But they were still well cooked and seasoned, so they were still great.
The baked potatoes were extremely filling, but still tasted good.
The dessert was a cherry and mango pie, which was pretty nice.
All in all, the food was pretty average, the main draw being the value for money it allows.
However, the service was top notch, being extremely prompt and friendly to boot. (This may have been because I arrived at 11am, before peak lunch time).
Overall, the food is just like any other Jack’s Place, but the service is prompt, genuine and doesn’t leave you with a bad taste in your mouth.

Good attention, variety of dishes. Amazing curly fries. Big menu.
A lot of sugar in the cold tea, like a heavy syrup, not recommended.

It's one of the worst outlet ever, service suck big time. When ordering food most of the waiter treat you like you are non existence. I have waited more than 15 min just to take my order. I have to approach those part time waitress and still nothing has not taken. Well pls avoid TPY outlet. NOT Worth paying for anything if their service not improved.

Got Caesar salad delivered from Jacks place, less than quarter bowl of vegetables, 4 slices of chicken. Pathetic
