Review Jai Thai Restaurant East Coast - Singapore

Came by for lunch. The crackers served with a very tangy sauce was nice. They charge $1 for it so be warned. We had the vermicelli with prawns which was flavourful. The omelette with chicken is recommended. The blue pea drink with a shot of lime juice was good.

Excellent cooking and good portions. But price on the high side for such settings. Will give a four star instead. Just these dishes cost us $140. Wow. Service not bad.

Authentic Thai Food. Loved the lemongrass salad. Friendly staff & good service, delicious food, decent serving size, reasonable pricing. Only headache is the parking at the East Coast Branch. Will definitely come back to try other dishes😋

I had: 1. Thai milk tea - not very sweet like the typical ones 2. Pad thai - nice 3. Basil pork The crackers given are very nice.

Always my fave Thai restaurant. I really love the food here. Food here is not the most refine , but I feel that it's very authentic. Very tasty. Lots of vegetarian options which is good.

The food is as authentic Thai of Thai taste, but a bit pricey. Can understand that most things are brought in from abroad. The Green Curry was great with options of pork or chicken. Nicely sliced and tender. Order also the lemongrass drink ,not too sweet, just the right taste of the lemongrass.

Came for dinner on a Saturday night, it was easy to get a table, the staff were friendly and accommodating, prices are relatively good, food was really delicious, we had green curry and pad thai. However, the amount of seafood in the pad thai was really little... One of each (one squid, one prawn etc). Hence 4 stars. The tea also tasted slightly funny, there was some herb or flavouring we didn't really enjoy. Overall, would recommend and be back!

One of the worst thai food i ever tasted in SG. The food was really bad. ZERO% like thai food. Just some silly frozen food and with some misc gravy. I am someone who has very very basic low standards about good food. So if i can complain, it simply means damnn bad. I ate so much delicious thai food both in SG and BKK. But this JaiThai is really shitty. And no it is not cheap or wallet friendly by any means. One chicken, one beansprout, one small Tomyum, 2 small white rice costs $26.40. WTH... office ladies and gentlemens patron this with your stomach at your own peril... (Dhoby Ghaut branch)

Worst experience ever Tourist Unfriendly Restaurant I seldom write bad review about restaurants on my FB wall Can anyone enlighten me??? Restaurants with Good online reviews are Good or bad??? Is this amount of food enough for 12 pax? 4 bowls of Tom Yum soup, 1 small plate of sweet & sour sliced fried fish & 12 plate of plain rice. This Thai restaurant 27 Purvis St (Jai Thai) are in a hurry to close the restaurant at 10pm as they said last order is 930pm & we were there at 920pm waiting for e table to be ready. If they can't afford to take in 12 pax they should tell us early right? I saw review online saying Expensive choice that spoilt diners even vegetarian so I thought of bringing friends that came from Sri Lanka to try out. Staff don't even know how to recommend, I was away for about 10min with another Fren that said wants to withdraw extra cash as they were prepared to spend $20-30 each person & this is the pitiful outcome. The staff should at least suggest to my friends that they can order some salads, some finger food, some vegetables or even meat dishes right? When the bill came & upon looking at it I straight away seek help from the staff as it's really not enough & the answer from them is "Sorry e Kitchen is closed". When my friend asked the staff if everyone else has ordered and would it be enough for 12 of us the respond was "I don't know. Faster order your food" is this how customer service should be??? I suggest they Close their restaurant for Good After today my friends are all flying back with a bad impression of this SOUP restaurant

Food was not bad, with authentic thai feel. However, the service at Purvis Street was really bad. Staff switched off the lights even before we finish our food. Overall bad experience, will not come back again and will not recommend my friends to come.

We catered vegetarian Thai food for a special event, and our guests loved it! Service and delivery was prompt, with no issues at all. Thank you to the team of Jai Thai catering!

My boyfriend and I often have dinner at the Thomson outlet. We love the phad thai (prawn) and prawn cakes best! Our food was served 5 minutes after we placed our order, and was as good as always. Good food, great prices, awesome service. 5 stars!

I cannot believe how friendly and kind the staff were when they came to set up. Food was great, compliments from our guests. Set up was beautiful and pleasant. Affordable rates for such good food. Thank You Jai Thai for the wondering housewarming catering experience.

You guys have the poorest service, especially the branch at purvis street. Went thr and asked if I could get a table for 3 and was told off straight in my face. Not worth going to get treated that way!!!

Went to the Halal branch at Dhoby X'Change abt 3 weeks ago.....the food & service were simply marvelous, especially loved their chicken green curry ... I highly recommend for lunch!

Went to order takeaway for lunch and was told to wait for 20mins. Thinking that its normal that the staff will approach me when the food and drinks are packed but i'm wrong. I went over to the counter to check on my order as i saw the group and realised that it was already packed long ago. But what's worse is that they had not yet packed my desserts and drinks and i have to wait even longer...disappointed with their service today!!

Those whom I've recommended to have never been disappointed!

A couple of major mistakes the waitress made when I entered earlier at the Purvis Street branch: 1. When "ushering" me to my table, she couldn't be bothered to walk 10 metres ahead of her to physically show me to my table. She pointed with her index finger to the table & then stood around the cashier idling with the blackest of blackfaces that undoubtedly said "why the hell am I here, I hate my job as much as the fact that you are here too so now I have to actually do work". 2. I was seated near the door that was wide open-- for whatever reason I actually don't know. It was a hot & humid day; it was uncomfortable to sit at that location despite the air-conditioning inside. I asked nicely if I could close the door. "No, cannot." I asked if me & my partner can then switch to another table because we are feeling warm & uncomfortable. "No, cannot. Those are 3-4 people tables." I then pointed out that the whole restaurant is empty. I kid you not-- ENTIRELY empty. Timecheck-- it's 6:03PM, you guys opened at 6:00PM for dinner. 3 minutes have passed & your restaurant is empty except for the table I am sitting at. "No, cannot. Those are 3-4 people tables." -- I am not deaf nor illiterate, I heard you the first time. 3. As if that weren't bad enough, she then WALKED AWAY back to the cashier to idle there & scribble some things on paper. Excuse me, are you ignoring me? I gave her the benefit of the doubt for about 2 minutes because I thought maybe she'd check with the manager about rearranging seating arrangements. Nope, she was still idle, just acting like she was busy. 4. I called another waitstaff to my table & clarified, "can we sit at a table inside?". Same response, with a restaurant that is STILL entirely empty. I gathered my things & told them to please cancel my order because I no longer want to eat here. I walked out & NOBODY had the decency to apologize for any inconvenience or try to rectify matters. They seemed more happy to have no actual work to do, to be honest. Jai Thai, I know you don't need my money. I'm not spending a lot being a party of two at a "Wallet Friendly" eatery in the first place. But this is just ridiculous. I respect waiters & waitresses who are great at what they do, because I have very little patience for bullshit & the service industry has to put up with a lot of that shit. I would never be able to be a waitress. But at the same time there are also some pretty shitty waitstaff & this is an EPIC level of service that I experienced right here. At times like this I hate that Singapore has an unavoidable "service charge", because these waitstaff obviously don't deserve it. What service? More like a disservice charge.
