Review Majestic Bay Seafood Restaurant - Singapore

Currently working with the tour group to sustain the business, hence it is fully booked till later months. Takeaway is still available. Under the tour, you get to enjoy the buffet for one and a half hour, there are six dishes which are given according to the number of paxs in the tour. For other dishes, you can write the quantity you would like and it would be given to you. There are fresh seafood in the tanks at the front of the restaurant, ensuring freshness for the seafood. Overall very filling and good as part of the tour package.

We came all the way here for the dim sum buffet, there is a signage saying the restaurant is full despite we saw empty tables. We asked for a table and manage to dine in. The staff said we can’t use any of the vouchers unless we pre-purchased or pre-booked. With that we tried their dim sum buffet with their original price. the menu choices are limited and the food is really so so. Nothing worth noting. Skip this if you are looking for delicious food. You can still come here if you just want to have a value for money, stomach full meal.

May 2022. After a nice stroll in Gardens by the Bay, we had decided to dine in nearby. We managed to get the attention of the staff to usher us in after quite a long wait. Staff crunch post covid huh.. We were famished and went for a fuzz free dinner set for 4. The set came with chilli crabs. Not Jumbo quality, but they were not bad either. We loved the yellow duckling buns which were stuffed with chocolate fudge. They were so cute 😍 and we hesitated to take our first bite.

Food 3.5/5 Service 1/5 Environment 3/5 Value 3/5 Due to the location I feel this place doesn’t need to try too hard to get full bookings. Plenty of ppl who after walking around the Bay/ gardens and prefer to eat Chinese food will come here as there is nothing else around. However knowing full well this the place is awfully managed. They have a 5:30 or 7:30 seating policy (no other times) and even when tables are empty don’t allow walk ins as they are “fully booked”. In addition to this they have a QR code / mobile Booking system which although is not a problem they refused to take any requests outside of the app. For example we wanted a glass of tap water without ice (side point they charge 2bucks for this) they refused to take any orders even though the online menu only had warm water, ice water and mineral water…….. A case of not only computer says no…… but human also says no ! Nonetheless food was good, no standouts although the chilli crab was less sweet than places like Jumbo which personally I preferred. Given location not overly expensive (but also not cheap) Distinctly average, but disappointing as they only need to manage it well and can take advantage of the location so much better. Ps: just wanted to highlight that the older gentleman who may have been the manager / boss was particularly rude, making it very clear that he had no interest in serving us at all. When m asked whether he thought we’d ordered enough…. His answer was “some plates are big some small, people eat different amounts….” ….. HELPFUL

Don’t bother coming for the Dim sum buffet. Pretty pathetic choices for dim sum. Some missing order while some took forever to be served. Rude staff. We were sitting at round table and they just places the dishes at the furthest end from us at their convenience. Staff keep pressing us to finish the food or there’s a $20 charge, but most of the dishes are quite unpalatable and salty.

Family luncheon on a week day It has been our 1st time returning to this Chinese restaurant post-COVID. We ordered the Friends of the garden set lunch menu for 3 pax. The steam buns were soft 👍 It was a pleasant surprise when the duck bun had chocolate oozing out with every bite 👍 Fried rice had wok-hei 👍 Only claypot toufu fish was tad too salty for us Elderly parents dining with us were satisfied with the dishes served. Happy & satisfied guests 👍 Do make a reservation online instead as their phone line is always engaged.

The best ala carts dim sum lunch restaurant at Gardens by the Bay! They give you a menu and you could order whatever you like and they serve it to you. 90% of all the food on the menu is nice! Good for families!

Wonderful location, Food tastes lousy, it's a waste for them to station there and give lousy food and services. Some serve too oily and some items are a 1 piece cut to 3 pieces , can even see it's not even cut properly. Not maintaining restaurant standards. It's a pity. When I read others review n try it myself. I totally agree with the lousy reviews.
