Review The Rabbit Hole - Singapore

Have been giving a thought of visiting here for a while and knowing it's closing for renovation/upgrades soon pushed me to reserve a seat for a special occasion today and it didn't disappoint. Atmosphere and service was excellent. Had to specifically request my main meat dish to be well done due to my special diet and it's still juicy and soft. Definitely recommended to drop by here if you haven't. Staffs were extremely friendly and we really enjoyed our time there. A wonderful end to the evening.

Love the vibes here in this place! You need to make a reservation before coming. Don't think they accept walk-ins since it's usually v full. This place is largely inaccessible, so it might be prudent to come here by private transport. Unless you are okay to walk in the hot and humid weather like us. This place is rebuilt from an old church, so most things are retained, like the stained windows and doors and windows etc. Food is quite huge but v pricey. I wouldn't say they are worth it for the price, but the food is quite unique and good. You can head on over to the backyard to snap a photo of the rabbit hole. Seems like it opens as an alfresco wine bar at night, called The Rabbit Hole. We came as we heard it is about to close. Never regretted.

I was looking forward to dining here for their final season of service when they announced that they will be welcoming a new concept later in 2021. However, I was left deeply disappointed. We started our Saturday with bellinis and gin & tonics. And we were already let down with 3 out of 4 of the cocktails flailing. The Earl Grey Lychee Old Fashioned was the standout, and unfortunately, for the entire brunch. Small plates: 1. Oysters were tasteless as with the Bloody Mary granita that accompanied it. 2. The Truffle & Brie Brioche was decent, served warm and light with hints of seaweed butter that could be stronger. 3. Wagyu Carpaccio was poor, and a mystery how it is the most expensive item in the section. 4. Chicken Liver Parfait was palatable, but would prefer it to be more dense. 5. The Burratina salad that was recommended by the wait staff, could use more olive oil and salt. Entrées: 1. Pork Stroganoff; undercooked tagliatelle with untasteful sauce. 2. Croque Monsieur; overcooked lobster turned rubbery, with a lot of salt. 3. Wagyu Quarter Pounder as recommended by the wait staff, was killed off with house-made ketchup. The overwhelming ketchup spoiled the entire dish. What a waste of a wagyu patty. Needless to say, we did not finish our mains and cancelled the desserts right after. The service was inattentive and cold, hitting rock bottom when we highlighted that the plates were dirty but was brushed off by the wait staff as a stain. Saving them from a 1-star review was the manager who came over later to ask for feedback for the brunch. She apologised for the service and food, also deducted some items off the total bill. Housed in a restored chapel on Dempsey, the place is great for photos as with the photos of the food. Overall, the presentation of all the dishes was delectable, but you would expect the sauce marks to be wiped off before serving.

The place is spacious and has a very nice ambience. However, we were quite disappointed with a few things: 1) The quality of food is not as good as what you pay for. Food price is on a high side but the taste was very plain, nothing special 2) The service was attentive. However, the quality was not per standard of fine dining, for example a) the hot drink was served and spilled out everywhere on the cup plate b) one fork on our table was dirty Definitely won't come back again and 2 stars here are for the ambience and service

A complete experience all the way through. Fabulous service from staff that genuinely seem to enjoy what they do. The food was impeccable in every way. The atmosphere was beautiful and calming. I'm glad we had the opportunity to enjoy an evening here.

A beautiful place for a nice dinner on special occasions. The service is excellent and the food is delicious as well. Their short ribs were very tender and the pacific cod was fresh and paired with small chunks of crayfish. The beef tartare and poached lobster starters were also really good. Also check out their signature gins; they are really refreshing.

Exceptionnal fine dining experience for Singapore. Food, service and location are all very good and very refined. The old church is really an incredible location. Of course it comes at a high price, 138++ for the 5 courses menu, but believe me, all delicious!

Place is a bit far if you walk, but most people would drive in. Overrated because it is closing soon this year 2021, decor is nice and with the signature rabbit hole wall (even equipped with selfie stand). The staff is friendly and polite. Price is $$$$. Scallop linguine is alright, with crisp scallops. Crepe is citrus-y and full of flavor.

Booked for brunch on Sunday. On arrival the lady that greeted me was dying to tell me that they were full, but was surprised when I told her we had booked! Make sure you book then! We had one of the booths and it was very comfortable and the restaurant ambience was laid back. Brunch menu has a great selection and not too over priced for Singapore. My fish pot was lovely and the friends burger very good. My Wife though is veggie and had ordered the tomato and pepper stew. When it arrived it had a large wedge of bacon on TOP of it, as well as bacon bits in the dish itself. The staff had difficulty understanding what the problem was until my Wife explained that she didn't eat meat and the menu said nothing about bacon on its description of the dish. They eventually changed it for another menu choice, but she had to eat alone as we had finished ours. The restaurant needs to tell you the ingredients to avoid issues for both abstainers and religious reasons. We then went to the bar to try one of their gin cocktails. This was a bit of a challenge as no one was serving in the "rabbit hole" so we had to keep going into the restaurant to ask for drinks. Then at 3pm it was last orders so we left. I appreciate that they needed to set up for the evening but we were sat outside. If they made more of the lovey bar area and garden during brunch then perhaps more of the many many people who came out into the garden for photos may be persuaded to stay for a drink. Overall brunch was good and apart from my wife's initial selection the food was good and the service attentive. We are going to try an evening booking with them.

We’d been here before and loved it so we came back for Mother’s Day brunch, and apparently that’s also the day they swap their cooks with an airline, but still feel empowered to gouge you. The food was fine at best. Most of it was poorly prepared. I’ve literally had better omelettes on airline flights. The selection was very, very limited. The kids menu didn’t have a single kid-friendly option on it. I negotiated the price DOWN to $450 for my family. Had I let them charge what they wanted, we’d have been looking at a nearly $800 mediocre breakfast. It was a shockingly garbage experience from what I’d previously thought of as a decent place.

We had the 4 course dinner, which was good. The starter was ok (ocean trout), the fois gras was small but cooked perfectly and the wagyu was too salt. However upon making this known to the staff they promptly replaced the dish with a perfectly seasoned one. As a mains we had the short ribs, which were very tasteful. The dessert was the crepe suzette, prepared table-side, and it was delicious. The restaurant offered a glass of red wine with our mains, because it was Christmas; a very nice gesture! All in all a pleasant dining experience!

Had high expectation on the food for my set lunch with my wife on her birthday today but was disappointed. My coq au vin was presented almost in a mess with the brown sauce covering the 2 pieces of chicken with 2-3 fried and dry bacon pieces scattered around it. The thigh texture was ok but the breast part was dry. Overall the chicken was tasteless. As it was my wife's birthday, I did not kick up a fuss on the spot so as not to spoil the mood. As for my dessert which was the strawberry balsamic streusel, the balsamic tanginess was way over powering that even the ice cream cannot managed to compliment it. All these were not what I was eagerly expecting after reading much and seeing so many nice pictures on the food. Utterly disappointed with such standard.

Valentine’s Day dinner, food was good overall and staffs were really attentive. The only drawback was the aged challan dick breast which turned out to be chewy and more on the medium rare side, and we didn’t like it that much. The dinner rolls were pleasantly fresh and warm like they just came out from the oven. Would recommend this to anyone looking for good and less pretentious dinner on special occasions.

I celebrated my husband's birthday with some friends and have always been a fan of their PRE ordered chicken dish. However this time around the chicken was dry and I could not finish my small portion. We pre ordered 2 portions of the chicken and was rather disappointed as I told my friends White Rabbit has the best chicken I have ever had☹️️the atmosphere was good though.

The Rabbits are just hipperty-hopping great! This was the place we hosted our wedding lunch 4 years ago. Each time we returned, they welcomed us like family. Kelvin the manager makes it a point to catch up and reviews our order to ensure that it would meet our expectation. He knows our taste buds so well! This time, we came to celebrate our anniversary and on top of all the nice things (including a Happy Anniversary greeting on our Crepe Suzette) plate, the Rabbits took a picture of us, printed immediately and handwrote a beautiful note to us. That was so sweet!

I want to take this opportunity to thank the service team. Especially Ms Marisa that served us. She went above and beyond to serve us. Noticed that my wife was disappointed that the dessert she wanted wasn't on the brunch menu. She offered to check with kitchen on opening the dinner dessert menu to us. Thank you white rabbit will visit again.

Ambience was good • Service Staffs were helpful & compliments to the staff who helped me and bf to take a photo outside the restaurant before the restaurant operations started:)Temperature of the food was great despite the crowd during V Day!Thank You for making my 1st V Day a great one:) Not a very French person but your food was an eye opener..Especially the purée peas with 65 degree egg & bacon. Will go back and try other food of yours at other occasions!

Ambience and service was great during my visit for a Tuesday Dinner. Food wise was good but nothing to shout about. The 98++ per pax 4 course left me hungry after the dinner. Portion was too small even for a petite lady. Argentinian red wine was good. Their staff saved the day with good service. We ordered a crepe dessert which was prepared by table side. Quite a novelty. I will be back to try their Sunday brunch.

It’s a beautiful restaurant. The food are overpriced. Menu is small, not inspiring and no kids menu eventho it’s a kids friendly restaurant. For the amount I spent, I wouls rather go to Cookhouse Dempsey anytime! Service wise, it’s slightly above average.
