Love the food and service here. Great quality and consistency - been here a few times now. The raw items were fresh and paired well with various condiments. The cooked items were fantastic and flavours will leave you wanting more. Drink selection is good too. Overall fantastic experience dining here and highly recommended.
We held our anniversary at Takayama, we love Omakase & the surprises it bring. We thoroughly enjoyed our almost 10 course dinner, every course was a delight, from start to last dish! The service was excellent as you might expect, especially from Chef/ Owner & his team who expertly serve each of us a course with a explanation of the dish. We even have a small surprise for our anniversary, a cake with candle & a Polaroid picture in a wonderful card.
This was my first experience at an omakase, and I will say it blew any expectations I had out of the water. The atmosphere was almost spiritual in a way? Diners spoke quietly and watched the chefs work. Service staff were attentive and polite. The food was incredible (especially the codfish.. i seriously didn't know codfish could taste so good). Worth every cent! Would definitely recommend! (Especially getting the counter seats)
Was here celebrating our 0years anniversary, and was definitely very impressed throughout our dining experience. Chef Takayama and his team are all extremely pleasant to be around, especially through the evening.
Service is top notch, service pace was just nice, and the food is definitely on par with some of the other nicer omakase places around the island.
Really enjoyed the entire omakase lineup. Chef's signature foie gras cream on cracker was pretty mind-blowing. The sashimi lineup was fresh and thoroughly enjoyable. The donabe at the end, was a great close to the satisfying meal. And of course, the homemade matcha financier was unexpectedly yummy!
ps. the hand decorated card with the polaroid, was really the cherry on the icing. Also seeing Sushi Chef Nonno here showing support to his friend. Really sweet sight!
Thanks again chef and team!
Great experience and really wonderful ambiance. The food was amazing and each dish was super complex. I’m not a fan of foie gras but the foie gras mousse with rice cake was so delicate and just lightly savoury. We went for lunch and left feeling super full. It’s definitely a pricey lunch (coming in around $400) for two but certainly a worthwhile Omakase.
Our first visit and definitely not our last. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal made with fresh ingredients. Possibly the best otoro we had and those matcha financiers were excellent. Thanks Chef Takayama and team! 👏🏻
Quite cozy ambience (although we didn't get to sit in the counter table) where you can see the chefs prepare the meal.
Went for the lunch set. Overall it was a pleasant meal, although some of the dishes were not particularly special.
The star of the show was the marinated miso cod with turnip (mains) and the aburi sawara with rice salt (part of the appetizer).
The first dish, the steam beancurd with uni, was particularly not too enjoyable – the uni didn't feel the freshest and there was this pungent taste perhaps from the yam or the way the beancurd was cooked.
A really interesting kaiseki meal. Chef Taro was in on that day and the other staffs were really good and attentive as well. We enjoyed our meal here very much!
