Review Y Cube Mookata Buffet - Singapore

Reach (Boybabyrage)
Great Thai Buffet place with excellent services. The staffs are pretty friendly and attentive. Everything is on point. The meat and soup are not overly seasoned which is rare to find. 👍👍👍 A must visit if you are around Golden Miles Complexes

Service is ok, just that the staff do not smile much. Food selection: Amazing Service: Service with no smile Price: worth the $ Came to the Y Cube Mookata as it was one of the mookata with air conditioning in Golden Mile Complex. We reached around 6 plus pm, there were maybe a handful of customers. We were delighted with the wide array of seafood, meats, vegetables and sauces. The seafood was fresh and I liked that the staff automatically broke the raw crab into pieces for us after we took the items. Items I would take a second/third helping of are the prawns which are very fresh, the crayfish, and the vegetables. The pork belly was quite frozen and were stuck together. The mushrooms were very nicely cut up so it would be easy to cook through. The marinated meats did look abit weird in color. But I just made sure I cooked them through. One thing I think could be improved is the soy sauce container. It spilled out a lot once we tilted the bottle. I had to use the tissues on the counter shelf to wipe it clean. We like the free flow of drinks. The Thai milk tea is nice. So be careful of your consumption of the drinks so that it won’t affect your appetite. I like that there is a sink with some soap for customers to wash their hands thereafter. The ice cream selection was very good too. I will definitely revisit again.

Love that everything is free flow - Seafood, meat, vegetable, sauce, rice/noodle and even thai milk tea. Quality are pretty decent and standard. Seafood are relatively fresh. Soup is more bland but can take more seasoning and chili. Service is quite friendly!

decent mookata buffet at $35.25 after tax. chicken and pork were OK, beef was absolutely horrible - way too tough. the best dish was probably the spiced fish. prawns were good too. good selection of drinks - Bandung, Thai milk tea, and dessert - Tropicana and Durian (wow!) ice cream sticks. wouldn't return as I'm a huge beef fan and the beef here was so bad. quality of food not worth $35.

For buffet about $70.50 for 2 person is a great deal provided you can really eat alot. I'm here for the seafood, oysters, prawns, lala, flower crabs which are quite fresh. Also there are marinated chicken, pork and prawns. Free flow of ice cream, my favourite is the coconut milk + jack fruit and drinks, thai milk tea, fruit punch etc. This place is air-conditioned however be prepared for your clothes, handbags to stink with the bbq smell.

First time trying. Very satisfied with the service at this restaurant. The quality and variety of food were great and definitely worth it for the prices we paid. Will definitely revisit again.

Another lesson learned. Next time better read goggle review before heading out for meals. Issue is with freshness of food . The cray fish is not fresh and it smells . How can they serve this kind of food . Cray fish is their main attraction but it deeply disappointed me . Other food is only so so .Will not go here again Only thing here is good is the staffs . Everyone of them work hard and is attentive.

My wife and I decided to indulge a little in mokata for dinner. We have been wanting to try this mokata stall since before the cb. Undeterred by some negative reviews about a drop in qualtity of the mokata that reopened after cb, we went in for a try since its something we already wanted to do. It was around 35 per person. They have a decent amount of variety going on. I shan't mention about the usual like chicken, vege and prawns. The ones that caught our eyes were - mud crabs - crayfish - big tiger prawns And that's it. The good thing is that we don't find the quality of the seafood offered to be bad. We rather enjoyed our time there. There's no time limit. You immediately pay upon entering (they don't accept card) and get ushered a seat. Selection of food involves going up to the spread and telling them what you want. A particular service that deserves to be mentioned is that the crayfish is deshelled for you. Drinks served are either a collection of fruit concentrate (which I didn't bother to try) , thai milk tea or water. Thai milk tea is uber sweet so I diluted it with 1 part water with the tea to make it drinkable. There's ice cream but there's only strawberry vanilla and chocolate and they are like the wall's ice cream. Nothing to shout about but I'll say not too bad. While I am not entirely comparing this joint to a buffet (it's a mokata folks), do be warned that they do not have fruits. I would recommend going there if you want to hit 3000 calories in a meal with lots of seafood and have lots of time to chill and talk (a date perhaps?) at golden Mile complex.

Good spread. Fresh seafood, frequently topped up. Place is clean, spacious and not stuffy. The staff are very attentive, to clear plates and shell before they pile up, and they even shell crayfish for us, they also helped us get the crabs ready for cooking (break and wash). Their tables are also big enough, with a side table/shelf to place food, drinks, soup jug, and condiments. This is unlike many buffet style bbq/mookata where your table get cramped with drinks, uncooked and cooked food. My only complain is the condiment, when i go for mookata i always look for the "thai" taste. Not found at Y Cube. Otherwise, value for money, and satisfied my belly.

Good spread of seafood and chicken choices. There is no time limit and we paid $32 for weekday dinner buffet, includes free CNY Hong baos and mandarins. Blonde short hair Chinese lady had good service: She was so skilled in peeling the crayfish! Thanks for an enjoyable experience with yummy food.

Went there for the first time with few girl friends And enjoyed ourselves there. Great variety of food and first time seeing so much seafood. Crayfish, baby lobsters, flower crabs, prawns, fish, lala (clams), fresh oysters, gong gong (snails), bamboo clams. Lots of different types of mushrooms, corns, vegetables, tofu etc. They have great selection of drinks and ice cream too. Staff provided us very good service but I didn't take note of their names though. One of the male staff saw that I was waiting for the crayfish, took my bowl n filled it up with peeled crayfish for me. That was awfully sweet of him. Price is reasonable considering their selection especially the seafood avail. Would visit again.

The seafood was not as fresh as before, I am very disappointed by the food quality. The price increase, yet the standard of food decreased. However, I am really thankful with a staff name Kanna. Sincerely thank you for your service, for helping us with the crab and crayfish. Good Job Kanna!

why the food always not fresh? it used to be great when it just opened. went on Dec 2017 and thought of giving it a last try this month yet disappointing still. Some of the food have a slight sourish taste, the fish and salmon can be easily seen as they were put for few days form the freezer, taste like it too..

It’s my 1st time there and I’m hooked! Not only for their wide variety of seafood and meat.. their service was ! Especially Jass! Though she’s the cashier tht day.. she’s not the type to slack behind the counter! She will interact with her customers and make sure we got enuff food! They even help us with peeling of crayfish.. so all we need to do is to bbq the meat! Another service staff Kana too! Funny lady who liven up the place! Wonderful experience there.. DEFINITELY A MUZ GO PLACE for mookata lovers! I’ll be back!!
