Was expecting a normal Japanese meal, turns out to be a great meal that must share to friends!
Ordered the saba shio fish, Koebi (fried small prawns) kake udon, and okonomiyaki. All were delicious and very much like having a meal back in Japan! Portions were bigger than expected, but value for money!
Had hot barley tea, came in a big pot, bf got iced one, free refills! Must come and try, won't be disappointing!
Do wish it's more accessible, have to drive in or change buses.

Has a very 80s look to the decor. Food isn’t bad, tastes pretty authentic. Katsu curry even had the fukujin pickles. Oyakodon also nice.

Nice homely Japanese eatery here! The katsu don is quite nice and unique with the addition of mushrooms. The salmon is ok, ebi tempera and karaage is good. The grilled squid is also fresh and bouncy! Like and check in to their fb to get a free wakami, it’s delicious! The roasted barley tea is also aromatic!

Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere. Food is alright but perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes.
What we like:
Oyako don
Milk tea
Didnt like
Sushi coated with sesame and a frozen crab stick.
Sashimi was abit soggy and ika was terribly hard.

Went at a colleague's recommendation to try during lunch. Didn't go for their daily lunch set and opted for their katsu curry rice. The curry itself is pretty good, generous. Squid was nice with the dip and the potato salad was not too bad too. My colleague had the yakisoba which was surprisingly quite delicious. Overall, a homely little place I wouldn't mind retuning to again if I'm in the vicinity. Otherwise, it's located at a pretty inaccessible place - best to drive there.

Good value, tasty and surprisingly big portions. We over ordered as we thought the rice bowls were normal sized but they were huge.
The salmon fish head was huge.
The potato salad is good but relatively expensive at $5.80 before service charge.
Food is ordered via scanning a QR code.

Tamako Meal has always been in our must visit list of Japanese Restaurants in Singapore. Their meals are simple yet authentic, never compromise in food quality and always ensure us with sufficient portion. Never miss their Giant Squid and Tuna bowl for our every visits. Owner is always friendly and chats with diners occasionally. Awesome place. 👍

Great value Japanese food. I always felt the bento set was one of the most value Japanese meals in Singapore.
I added on the squid from Hokkaido based on their recommendation and it was great too.
The place is always kept clean and tired so it is great especially for a season of covid19.

Slow and poor service, will not come here again. It was Mother’s Day and with only two restaurant staff and the restaurant 70% full, we could see that the restaurant was understaffed and didn’t want to pressure the staff on our orders so we waited. We ordered the Mother’s Day set menu thinking it would be easier for the kitchen to prepare. We refilled our own tea. However we waited close to an hour and saw the the table beside us, who came later got served first. When I finally couldn’t take it and asked the waitress there if she could check on our orders, she gave a look of “can’t you see we are shorthanded and busy” and rolled her eyes. It was only when we voiced out again that she went to check and the food came shortly after. The food did not even come from the restaurant kitchen but outside the restaurant. The staff could communication better and inform patrons beforehand that they were seeing higher volume than usual and there would be a longer waiting time. Being considerate to the restaurant doesn’t pay as well as we waited for our food but the table beside us, who chased the restaurant for their food got served first and it was only after we voiced our unhappiness did we receive our orders in the next few mins. Very unpleasant experience and will not come back again.

When restaurant was young. Service was good. Now restaurant became popular, but service didn't keep up.
Ordered yakitori but was told restaurant couldn't provide as couldn't cope with crowd. But yakitori restaurant only 3 tables full!! If the lady spent time serving customers than chatting with Angmo !!!
Ordered sake but served at last dish!!!
Japanese restaurant never such service.
Last visit here. No more.

Nice ambience, nice food & reasonable price. Just that food serving is kind of slow, maybe we are too hungry to wait ...lol. Will bring friends to try.

Service is really good and food is above average compared any other neighborhood malls! But for the yakiniku Don, was disappointed when they used jasmine rice instead of short grain rice...

Visited Tamako this evening. Service still good but food quality and taste is not as good (or even close) to the past. Wonder what happened??? Told the staff, not sure she will feedback to the chef. 😔

I think things have changed, the family diner feel seems to be lacking from before. Still ok though.

Ordered a simple dinner set and I must say the servings are huge, and food taste was good compared to normal teppanyaki outside! The boss is really friendly and always going around, putting smiles on people's faces! Good job!

A favourite place for me and family to dine at. Food as always is excellent and fairly priced. Only a minor feedback for the nice folks running the place, I noted out of my last 4 visits varying from later afternoon to early evening, salmon sashimi was out 3 of the visits, I hope the supply can be looked into so that I can continue with my regular dosage :)

The last time I came was 10 yrs ago, visited the shop again today and ordered a yakisoba. Was eating very happily till I saw a hair in the noodle... It was a total disappointment and a turn off as well. I shown it to one of the waitress and requested to remove that order from my bill when she came back offering me another plate of the same. Adding on, the boss didn't come over n explain not apologize.. hmmm. Not a pleasant experience, won't go again.

Hope there are more variety of soupy noodles there... ;)
