Just hanging around at Tanjong Pagar looking for food when I came across Soupstar and I can't believe it took me so long to discover this!! You basically combined two of my favourite foods - Western soups and Asian popiah (which I find lighter than a wrap because the skin is much thinner)!
Pleaseeee open it somewhere in Ang Mo Kio/Bishan/Novena!!!
This place surprised me. Love the sesame chicken popiah. Tasty. And the beef stew with the 3 grain rice is excellent. Keep up the high standards souperstar.
I love the soup.. Souperstarlicious and the staff are so friendly.
It's nice and simple . Definitely worth a try . Guess not too many people notice this stall who is sandwich next to Japanese food and Wang coffee
Place is not so crowded. And the serving time is fast.
The taste of the traditional popiah is good.
Cost - $$
The souper combo sets have better deals
Soup + Popiah + Drink = 9$
I would come again for the popiahs, a nice twist from the traditional ones. I enjoyed it. Soup wise was just okay for me, could be hotter and thicker in texture. Staff could be friendlier to make the whole dinning experience from good to great.
Really amazing poh piah and pretty good soup.
Small eatery with amazingly fresh tasting ingredients. The ingredients in the “modern popiah” may resemble what you find in a western wrap, but generously wrapped in popiah skin. I had the Mexican fajita chicken wrap and it was delicious from the first bite. The soups are tasty and not starchy. This place outshines Soup Spoon in taste and quality.
Simple but good soups (much less ingredients than what you’d find at Soup Spoon). Really like their non traditional popiahs, aka. wraps in popiah skin. Slightly expensive (~$10) for a set meal, perfect portion for me but may not be filling for bigger eaters.
Asian version of Wraps especially for those who loves the traditional popiah skin. Sesame chicken was good! Soup wise.. Not bad. Cheap compared to wraps but if you think of it as popiah.. Then 4.50 is pretty steep.
The only place you can go to there is near by a station and serves popiah together with western soup. Don't be fooled by the word 'popiah'! They actually have thai chicken popiah as well as seafood popiah which is quite filling. Soup is pretty good and tastes homemade. Please support!
