Review Kinki - Singapore

Fatimah Bee Mohamad Ali
Still my favourite Japanese restaurant in Singapore, even after all these years. Kinki has never failed to impress 👏 me! Please do make a reservation though, as they are mostly fully booked even on a weekday. Delicious cocktails, fairly decent sake selection and of course not forgetting the amazing food with a breath taking Singapore's Marina view. Great interior design & decor of the restaurant, there is always gonna be something to look at apart from your company (that's for sure)!

Delicious food, nice ambiance & view, and great service! Prem was serving my table and he was friendly, prompt, and helpful. All the food was tasty, but my most favourite dish was the ac/dc sushi, which is a fried roll. It was a great dinner experience, highly recommended!

Would recommend as a great chat, drink and munch spot. View was great, staff were approachable and friendly. Prices are a little steep but expected. Food tastes great and loved every single bit. Drinks were interesting and worth trying.

Went with the family for a weekday Birthday lunch. Food and drinks did not disappoint. Fresh sushi/sashimi and a variety of set menu options. Cocktails and Sake were excellent as well. A little something for everyone that enjoys Japanese cuisine. Service was as good as their food/drinks and came in a timely manner despite the venue being quite busy. Wish I had gotten our waiter’s name to give him a mention as he was fantastic.

We were pleasantly surprise with Kinki.. came for the atmosphere & Marina view but were actually quite happy with the food. Favorite dish for me was the Cowabunga & their Ohmi Wagyu was lovely.. however not all dishes were good but overall we were happy..will definitely visit again 😉

Great ambiance, suitable for dine in with your love one. Great food too, better than some of Michelin star restaurants. Will come back again for the fantastic golden age sushi.

Been here several times, and the food is exceptional as always! We love the service by service staff Prem! He is very proactive in checking what food I’m having because I’m expecting, and goes the extra mile to inform the chef to fully cook my food even without me asking - totally appreciate that! Despite the restaurant being filled with diners, he does not compromise on his service and keeps a look out for us to ensure everything is okay. Highly recommend to visit this restaurant - good food, nice ambience, view overlooking MBS and dedicated service staff!

I wish I could give a 5 because the food was so amazing. All the dishes I ordered were so great! With the price I was paying, I wish we could have received better service from the staff. No interaction and no smiles. The garlic fried rice came half an hour after all dishes were eaten. No apologies. Pre-ordered a birthday cake and reminded twice to serve beforehand, but still, they missed out on this. Yet, they had the cheek to still charge me for the chocolate cake. And even then, no apology again was given from the lady who presented the bill. I left with two grumpy birthday girls. What a pity to what could have been a 5 star dinner. (Look at the previous 2 reviews, it is definitely time to do quality checks on your service)

Mediocre quality at exorbitant price esp green tea at $5. My scallop in the Chirashii was fishy smelling . To think Ive paid $40 for that. My lunch was served on a cracked tray. Even food courts hv better trays! Thanks but I won't be patronizing them anymore. They have seen better days tho.

We loved our Kinki brunch experience! The food was amazing and we had the freshest sushi ever! We especially loved the scallops, tuna maguro and salmon! It was our first time yesterday but definitely not our last!

Food was great. My partner and I had a good meal. We loved the Foie Gras Scallop Sushi, the Ni Hotate and the rest of the sashimi was extremely fresh but the service wasn't something to shout about. It was alright. When we moved to the rooftop for drinks, that's when the service really sucks. No one bothered to take our order even after we were sitting there for 10min. We had to go personally to call for the waiter. All in all, we had 3 rounds of drinks upstairs and we spent almost $400 between the 2 of us in total. Will I visit again? Most likely. For the quality of the food 7.5/10 but the service needs some improvement (restaurant 6/10, bar 2/10).

Great ambiance, terrific views, decent service and good food but...very overpriced in my humble opinion.

Low quality Japanese. The location is the only reason why this place survives.

Food is good. Service is good. We found a little cockroach walking on the table though. We got 20% discount for the incident.

View is fantastic. Sashim is great! But, the rest like maki is not value for $$$. Service depend on which waiter.

Please read this review and avoid this place ! Last wednesday I had friends in town and decided to take them for a drink at this place to admire the view of the bay We ordered a bottle of australian sparkling wine called sparkling chandon, as we were ready to leave , we ask for our bill the waiter who served us said it was settled already we were very surprised but as we bumped into some other friends we assume they treat us and took care of our bill however, we asked them to double check again and after they gave us the green light that everything has been sorted we made our way to the exit suddenly the security guard asked us to wait apparently, our bill hasnt been paid our waiter was agitated and talking to one of the bartender about our bill. he then asked us to pay, without hesitation we agreed and were about to proceed to payment. then it started the bartender then asked us to pay cash as they were not accepting cards payments that night We said we didnt have any on us so then they agree to accept our cards I find it weird as I also work in Singapore in the same industry but ...I refused to believe that they were trying to scam us Then they told us we had to pay $179 without presenting a bill The sparkling wine was only $90++ so I was surpised and insisted to see the bill to understand how come a $90++ bottle of sparkling wine became a $179 bill They were very embarrassed and justified the mistake by pretending they thought we had Moet& Chandon champagne We told them it wasn't the case but no apology from their behalf but neither a printed bill instead the bartender started to calculate gst + service charge into is phone and came out with a number out of nowhere at that point, im getting really annoyed and insit again on getting a printed bill reluctantly, he finnaly printed one with the right item , 7% gst + 10% service charge i refused to pay for the service charge and ask to speak to the manager the bartender , Daryl or Darren, im not sure about his name then told me that the manager was not there and he was the person in charge and left me with 2 choices either I pay the bill with the service charge or he will calll the police i asked him why did he wanted to call the police , his answer was , you dont want to pay your bill so im calling the cops i repeatedly told him that i was happy to pay for my bill but not for the service that was the worst I ever had in my life and was simply asking him to remove the service charge he refused and kept threatening my friends and I to call the cops we decided to give up and just pay after all the other bartenders came around us and started theatening us too and left this place as soon as possible DONT GO TO THIS PLACE ! There is a huge scamming going on there and it seems that all the team is involved. This review will probably be removed anyway but as a f&b manager myself I really hope that the owner finds out about the fact that his employees are stealing money from him
