Review Mak's Place The Hawkerant - Singapore

Just had dinner here. The 2 pinoy ladies (the skinny and the big size lady) were very very rude. They were so hot tempered. It seems like their colleagues also agreed when i raised a concern to the nice aunty at the cashier but they couldn’t do anything. Im a regular but will stop having my meals here. Family and colleagues will also stop going over until the 2 ladies no longer there.

Not sure about the reviews here, perhaps I have a different experience. I've been here like 5 times and pretty much order the same thing - cream chicken and buttered squid, sometimes mixed vegetables and mushroom. A bit sad that they don't have Grab/Foodpanda and so you have to Whatsapp message them if you want an advanced order. Anyway, their cream chicken and buttered squid are sublime. I think when you go here, expect that it is a family restaurant/you might need to wait for the food to go out. It's a pretty unique concept - I've never had "Chinese Muslim food". (Photo is from a recent take-away. The rice here was not theirs, it was ours btw.)

More than 40 mins of waiting and all we get are drinks and rice and 1 omelette. Really BAD SERVICE now. Rude servers. Used to like the food.

Went on a Saturday night at around 8 pm 16/7/2022. Waitress didn't mentioned about the waiting time. After taking the order, I realised 6 tables before me were waiting for their food, not sure the ones outside. Asked the another waitress how long more, she said waiting time 30 to 40 mins. We were not informed about this. Ordered one mineral water, one teh o ice limau and both came near 15 mins after ordering. As for the food, I ordered wanton noodles, seafood horfun and yanzhao fried rice. Noodles came first after 40 mins of waiting. Yang Zhao came 5 mins after that. If you willing to wait for an hour to get all of your order on Saturday night, then come here. If not, not worth it.

My unpleasant order experience started with the non customer eccentric arrogant attitude cashier lady. I was the first in line to make my order ad 430pm. She told me in a take it or leave it manner saying takeaway order will take between 30 to 40 mins to be ready. I said ok. And just waited. After 40 mins my order is still not done. After inquiring about my take away order for the umpteenth time she told me they are just about to prepare my food. When I can see those who came before me already had their order completed. So I demanded for a refund and reiterated I was first in line. To which she replied in disgust you are first in line but we got phone order before you. Today I learned that phone orders are prioritised over those who made the effort to wait for the shop to open and ordered at cashier. My suggestion to the owner : please educate and train your front line lady staff on how she should interact with customers who waited almost an hour for their food and left gering hungry. I guess it's my fault for doing a walk in order and asking for a refund.

First time eating here with a recommendation from a friend. "Restaurant food at hawker prices" is their slogan and it met my expectations! Everything we ordered is tasty and the portions are huge so it's amazing! Will definitely come again! The uncle serving/hosting us was also very funny and friendly! :)

My no. 1 go-to place in Singapore. Everything’s Halal. If you like spicy food and rice I highly recommend their Thai Spicy Fried Rice. Their homemade ice lemon tea is superb but a bit too sweet. I gave a 4-Star rating because the place isn’t as clean looking, but there’s an al fresco area and an air conditioned area. Also the toilet is unclean.

I AM DEFINITELY GIVING THIS A FIVE!!! Well, my favourite Malay / Chinese food place in Singapore. Favourites? CREAM SAUCE CHICKEN, cereal squid, thai spicy fried rice, and teh chino. The food is for sharing so it wont be that so expensive. Filipinos visiting Singapore should really try this place. Best time to visit is around 11pm, less people. Idk what's the secret of the cream sauce but one day, I'll discover it.
