Incredible store serving up some of the best salty & sweet Tau Sar Piah I have ever had. Absolutely delicious and so moreish! It's tough and takes a lot off willpower not to reach for one more. The long queue was sure worth the wait to try these treats.

Hand made excellence. Tau sar piah from another era when each disc has many layers of flakiness encasing pure mung beans roasted and ground. There are the salty and sweet versions. The sweet version has sesame seeds sprinkled on top. The best time to go is 9.30 am on a weekday morning. The savoury piah , warm from the oven ranks among the best of $1.00 treats ever. Sit in a booth or on a coffeeshop chair and take little bites amidst the hustle bustle between sips of hot team. But don't just stop at the tau sar piah. Sometimes , when the queue for this is too long, i get the swiss rolls or the cream puffs from the bakery. So good too ! The pleasures of being semi retired redoubled !

This is the best Tau Sar Piah that I've eaten. There's sweet and saltish versions to choose from. It tastes best when it's hot, and it tastes very nice. Awesome! Always will stop by if I'm passing by the shop.

(Warning: If you are driving and picking up your order, don't wait along Balestier Road and cause traffic congestion. There is a car park behind Loong Fatt. Be considerate.) "Selling like Hot Cakes" - quite literally. Amazing chinese pastries, called Tau Sar Piah (Bean Paste Biscuit) that is a must try. Been a regular customer here (whenever we come for medical at Thomson Hospital). They come in two flavors - Salty (that's actually a salty sweet blend) and Sweet. The pastry is incredibly flaky and the bean paste is rich but not overly sweet. For best experience, eat soon after collecting while warm. They keep well for a few days too but the pastry becomes less flaky and the paste becomes dense. They also make wicked sponge cakes and brownies (Banana, Orange, Butter, Blueberry and Coffee Walnut). Do note that the queue can be unbearably long, even during non-peak hours. You can call in to order in advance.

Finally made the trip to visit after a month of wanting to come by. It's much easier to reach by bus instead of MRT. The bus stopped by Thomson Medical which is just a short walk away. There is a bit of wait for the tau sar piah. A lady take your order while you're on the waiting line. Order are multiple of three. So, I got three salty and three sweet tau sar piah. After 15 minutes, it's ready - mean while you get to see people making the piah by hand. I was not prepared for how good the piahs were, it's piping hot out of the oven, and the dough is very flaky and the filling is overwhelmingly sweet/salty. It's my favorite tau sar piah and it's going to be hard to go back to store bought ones now. They also sell other bakery items. Tried the custard puff and it's quite good. Next time, we'll try to eat in and order coffee to go with it. There are at least 2 other tau sar piah store on the same street but not sure how good they are.

The best tau sar piah in Singapore! The 30 minutes queue was definitely worth it. Wish that I could give a 10 stars with such a great taste/texture at such a reasonable price (S$1). I am very picky with tau sar piah and to be still surprised by this perfection, this is WOW. The skin is on the crispy side and just right in the flakiness due to the double baking. I believe that the TSP is cooked first in medium temperature after at high heat. The filling is very good as well. I ordered a box of 10 (5 sweet and 5 salty). I can't decide between which ones I like the most.

What draws me to Long Fatt is the fragrance of each freshly baked dou sar bia batch and the taste of it. Thin layered and crispy soft skin topped with the choice of either sweet or salty flavoured filling. There are a few other pastries (custard puffs, pandan sponge cake etc) besides dou sar bia. Arrived at 11am on a Saturday for walk-in purchase and there was a line waiting outside Long Fatt. Queued for about 1 hour and a half for the order. Recommend to pre-order them online and collect based on the time slot :)
