Tucked in the corner of the second floor of myVillage, Hajime- an unassuming Japanese restaurant, is one of the best places in SG to get your tonkatsu fix. Couldn't have asked for a better meal with its authentic tonkatsu, Niigata rice, home-made miso soup, condiments and friendly staff. We came during off-peak hours and got the chance to chat with Chef Tan-San as well. Hearing his passion and dedication for his craft made the dining experience more memorable. Overall, Hajime is a testament to what Japanese cuisine really is- anything but pretentious.

Had our late dinner here tonight. Extremely love the tender pork fillet. Worth every cent spent. The miso soup is one of a kind, yummy and not too salty. The rice used is of fantastic quality, loved every grain of it. Will definitely be back again for its tonkatsu, one of the best in Singapore.
