Newton is a foodie place despite its alternative reputation of being a tourist attraction which in any case shares the same status as other food centres. Ordered Sambal Stingray and plain rice with June, True with previous reviewers she is definitely one of the most bubbly servers around, Congrats A
We gave it a try after reading the many positive reviews but was very disappointed with the quality of the food. Stingray and crab were not fresh. The worst we had tried in newton FC.
Ordered large prawns, chilly crab, salted egg crab, stir-fried vegetables and sambal sting ray. All cooked to perfection. Authentic Singapore cuisine. Must try.
Very nice and tasty food, reasonable price. One of the best in Newton Food Centre.
BBQ Stingray: 5/5
Cereal Prawn: 4/5
Sambal Kankong (Morning Glory): 4/5
Omelette:2/5, too bland
Cereal Prawn portion is small but taste is good.
Food is pretty good, however i would like to commend the girl server who works at this stall. She is super friendly and helpful. Told her i just went for many injections on my hand and she saw that i had many plasters on, so she had the prawns peeled for me so that i wont have to use my hands to pee
Ordered their BBQ sambal stingray for delivery. Stingray is very fresh and still piping hot when received. Love it. The cincalok is so good too. Go well with the stingray. Would have rated 5 stars if the sambal can be spicier.
Good cooking skills. Recommend their Lunch promo for $6 for omelette rice. A bit stingy for their $12 petai. Overall cooking was a tad too salty. Would ask for them to tone down on salt next time. $15 sambal stingray was decent with good texture.
