A traditional Japanese restaurant with lots of sashimi in their menu. Lunch set prices is very reasonable and most of the sets includes sashimi. Wanted to order noodles they have none when we were there. Ordered some set lunch to try also some sushi. The taste is at most “acceptable” but sashimi is fresh. Server is really going through the motion didn’t feel right to dine at such environment. The place is rather small but clean. If you are only looking for a place to fill your stomach you can consider coming.

Attended birthday dinner for a family of 5 on 26/3. Arrived early but was allocated a table in a tight corner next to the door. With 2 elderly seniors over 75, we requested for a more comfortable seating. Even though there was another table of 5 available, we were refused to change to the other table, citing that we 'booked later'. When we finished our dinner, the other table had not even shown up.Restaurant should have more discretion and be mindful of dining experience. The food is not that great and the whole dining experience became unpleasant and the seniors had difficulties getting in and out. Will definitely not go back there and will not recommend friends to dine there. Not worth the time and money.

Jolly good. Place a bit small. Noisy when you have 5 men drinking and letting loose on a high Friday night. You can't help but also raise your voice so that your friends can hear you.

Got the sushi bento set ($38) and felt that it was very affordable for the quality I got. The cod was insanely delicious and the sashimi was fresh. Will be back.

A wonderful little place in town that seats 16. Marukyu serves up with a rather good Japanese Omakase selection, making them stand out from the bevy of Korean BBQ shops spattered across the area. Great attentive service from their wait staff. Checking frequently to make sure our cups are filled and promptly clearing away emptied dishes. Will help speed things along if the staff were familiar with their own menu. Thankfully their super friendly head chef was moving around the front of house to make recommendation of the seasonal catches as well as his yummy specials. Food coming out from the kitchen was beautifully plated up, a feast for the eyes. Did not disappoint.

Service staff is very good and the food tastes fresh and nice. However, every time I visit, the size of the sushi/sashimi is getting smaller. I typically eat sushi bento lunch set (38.5 SGD) but most of the times I don't get full and leave the restaurant hungry. Sometimes, portion sizes are really small. I am about to give up. I strongly recommend this place if you are not very hungry or you don't have a budget constraint.

Lovely restaurant with limited seats. Service is good and they will explain everything during each course of the Omakase meal. The aircon was pretty cold and they were willing to turn the temperature up. Will return some day. Affordable omakase.
