Tried the laksa (small portion $4). Taste was not too bad., although not as rich as the other versions I've tried before. No cockles but the ingredients were ample, prawns were relatively fresh. I like it that the utensils were individually packed.

Don’t know what’s all the hype about.
Had the royal bowl, ingredients were all frozen type which you can get at supermarts. (Except for crayfish) you’re just paying a premium for the extravagant looking bowl, after which leaves you an empty feeling as the food is just mediocre. If you’re looking laksa, try the one at Queensway Shopping Center.

Though restrictions for dining-in at the food centre were recently lifted, the crowd has not returned in full force. Being a first-timer, I tried the crowd favourites rendang chicken, as well as the chicken curry with rice and paid $11 in total. The quality of food was excellent and way exceeded my expectations. Would definitely be back to support this stall. Must add that the stallkeeper was very friendly too, and this wholesome dining experience uplifted my entire day! :)

Very nice and fragrant laksa! The laksa gravy has a good consistency and not too thick or bland. They sell other dishes like rendang chicken and curry chicken with noodles, bread or rice too. Worth trying if you're in Maxwell!

Well, I'm being a tad unfair - they are not a laksa specialist but I'm comparing them with Janggut, Katong Laksa and even wrongly so with "ah heng curry chicken noodles" - as I was looking for a spicy soup noodle fix. So, got to say that they were pretty competent, they belong to the "generalist laksa" that are sold alongside prawn noodles soup or ba chor mee. And for that, I think they do a good job, it was flavorful (salty) but noodles overcooked (soft).

This is definitely one of two best hawker centres to taste local Singapore food. It is a must to go a little earlier to avoid peak periods during lunch and dinner. For lunch, go around 11:30 am, secure a table, and note down the table number. Next step is to order the food. Still not sure what to eat? No worries! The ubiquitous queues are a testimony to the popular dishes at this food centre and many more fantastic dishes that are waiting to be discovered. My favourite dishes have to be the spring rolls, rojak (fresh fruit/vegetable-salad in a unique prawn-based sauce), fish sliced soup in a delicious milky stock, and the famous chicken rice. Just give it a try for the taste, your value for money and rubbing shoulders with the locals. 😉

I have to say I was disappointed with the offering, deceived by some reviews.
Despite looking delicious, this Laksa had little kick, was bland, watery and not enough “hair-bee”. Will not return.

1. Chicken very stingy portion.
2. Curry soup lost its favour and very diluted.
3. Tao por was dry .. It was not boiled enough to be smooth and soft .
4. All above is not acceptable for its price...
During The father's times, it was tasty and addictive...now....what a waste....of poor apprenticeship ..really hope to see the standard up again..

Just had a bowl. Disappointed with 2 bony pieces of small chicken meat and a thin slice of breast meat! Used to be better!

There are only 3 locations, so the rest that have branches are over are not related and you can even see some of them selling rice or other different food. You will know the difference when you try from any of these 3 places to know the real deal
