It’s a bit of a moot point to review this particular outlet as they’re closing at the end of the month, but some of the comments are relevant to the other outlets, as well, so here goes. We came for lunch today, arriving right at noon, and had no trouble getting a table as a walk-in, which was nice. Service was friendly. My one initial gripe was, as with so many other places, the query of “still or sparkling”. You have to mention tap. Not doing so just comes across as misleading people into thinking they need to pay for bottled water. Otherwise, no issues at all with the wait staff. They were quite pleasant. The food itself took a long while to come out, but I was happy that both dishes actually came out together (there were two of us). It’s such a simple thing and yet so many restaurants struggle with it, so that was nice. Both of our mains, a spaghetti bolognese and a steak sandwich, were large and tasty, though the steak sandwich could have been a little better. It’s always a challenge with a sandwich like this because if the meat is even a little bit tough, it can be hard to eat, all the more so when served on an airy toasted bread like the sourdough here. Also, if there were caramelized onions on there, I couldn’t find them. That said, it was a tasty sandwich and quite filling. I liked it. The fries were also decent and a large portion for a side. The bolognese was a large portion and tasty. That bowl was completely empty at the end. The iced tea was fine, unsweetened, and with plenty of tea, not too much ice like some places. I’d have liked to get dessert, as their desserts are good, but we were quite full from the mains. Overall, PS has a laidback, comfortable feel, a nice range of dishes on the menu, and generally quite tasty food. My one real gripe, and it’s not a small one, is that they’re really quite expensive for what they are. The food just shouldn’t cost that much and I always leave feeling like l got a little beat up, which is why I rarely go. That steak sandwich was $32 just to give you an idea of what I mean. If the prices were more reasonable, we’d go more often because we do like the food.

Top ambience, great service, good 1-1 deal on mimosas for that extra spike on a weekend. Piccolo has the hit you need. Bunwich - individual ingredients make sense, but their cohesion isn't working. Could be the hard buns or lack of a hero element.

Ordered the sticky bbq ribs, strawberry short cake milk shake and truffle shoestring fries. Fries is good as always, served hot crispy and thin. Fries half serving is good for 2. Ribs not bad. Strawberry short cake milk shake is surprisingly flavorful and thick, with lots of topping (dried strawberry bits and cookie crumbs)

The date pudding was too cloyingly sweet, but the double chocolate milkshake is great! Rather unorthodox because it has pieces of cake blended in, but hey love it

We came on a quiet weekend night. We booked but there were No queues. As with other PS cafe the food is good and there is a comfortable atmosphere. Food portion is also generous
I got the burger with salad sides

Go to place for sticky date pudding, truffle fries and my personal favourite - flourless orange cake. The outlet on Martin road has an interesting decor and quite different from the other outlets. A bit chilly though.

One of the quieter PS Cafés. But such a nice green setting. Friendly staff and good food.
