An excellent place for afternoon tea. Do not want to share too much or else it would be full house everyday and I cannot get a seat anymore.
Lovely afternoon tea buffet experience. Do make reservations to avoid disappointment. We had the 11am to 1pm session. One pax could order 2 drinks. You could request the staff to top up the hot water for the tea.
Started with local delights and must eat the crispy yam cake. It was good! My friends recommend the laksa. Rich flavours.
The cold cuts and cheese, I liked all of it. My fav item was the small tartlet with chives. Best flavours. The roast was very good too and we got the pork neck that day. Different days, may get different roast.
The pandan donut and castella cake were all good.
Staff are efficient in clearing the plates.
Was there to support the Irelandfunds high tea initiative. Good place and been a long time since I last visited...pre Covid19! I love the scones and crème bulee...Rest are pretty standard. I love the Crispy duck and vegetables roll with mango Aioli from the Irish box selection..of sweets best tasting to me was Bailey's cheesecake. An afternoon we'll spent..chilling and for a good cause!
$62++ for weekend Hi-Tea. Good quality local snacks and 2 free coffee or tea. I wished that the beverages are just free flow. Service folks were friendly and helpful
Aside from the heightened safety measures (window shopping for buffet items), the experience is pretty much the same as before the pandemic. Quite a good way to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon.
I had high expectations for this place because its in Goodwood Park Hotel.
Food: average, not worth the money in terms of variety and taste. The chili crab sauce was mainly starch then anything else. None of items shouted out in terms of taste. They are not bad either.
Service: some staffs are good. Some look lost. But better than average.
Place: quite nice. The part that it is next to swimming pool might be nice for some while irritating for others.
With a reputation as a choice destination for high tea, or British English afternoon tea, since the 1970s, L'Espresso in Goodwood Park Hotel is a cozy cafe by day, a chic lounge by night, and an overall relaxing and welcoming place. Positioned in the central space of the Goodwood Park Hotel lobby, L'Espresso is unmissable, whether for the neatly lined rows of comfortable furnishings, the buzzing crowd queuing or dining here, or for the attractive eye-catching display of dishes which look so appetizing.
.
Ambience at L'Espresso is relaxing and luxurious, with an elegant splendor. The large dining hall occupies most of the lobby, with wide lounge seats flanking low tables on the gleaming marble floor. A full-length glass panelled wall brings in ample natural light and a view of the landscaped gardens of the hotel, which flank the main pool. Though positioned as 'high tea', it's more accurately a buffet style, with the rows of dishes displayed attractively along the buffet line.
.
Service at L'Espresso is professional and attentive, with a discreet bearing. Crucially, staff are observant and proactive, clearing away empty plates throughout your meal, ensuring you always have table space for more. They demonstrate good product knowledge on the dishes and beverages, and are efficient at fulfilling requests. I feel they accord each guest personalised attention, and really make you feel welcome. The queue to be seated can be a little disorganised though.
.
Food at L'Espresso draws on British English high tea cuisine, as well as classic Modern Singaporean hawker favourites. Unlike other high tea elsewhere, they offer a buffet line, with an equally wide range of sweets and savouries, all decently executed and worth going for seconds (or more). As a buffet, portions are unlimited, though each serving is typically small and dainty in size, great for sampling. Still, it's difficult to eat everything available, as it's just too much. Prices are reasonable and great value, budget SGD $72 per person.
I was conscious of adjusting expectations for buffet food since they are prepared in mass so the quality usually fluctuates btw average and ok. I was impressed by the creme brulee and scones as well as milk pudding (a pity that Goodwood's durian pastries and desserts weren't among the buffet items). Service was fine and the dining environment was cosy enough.
