Review Ma Maison - Singapore

Jun Choung
A very classic and cozy Japanese Western restaurant with warm and friendly staff. Service was amazing, however do expect to queue during peak hours as they are usually packed. As for the food, I have tried their pork and beef dishes, they were very well seasoned and tender. But, not really a fan of the seafood paella (it’s huge though, recommended to share). Lastly, I would say they serve rustic food with no over the top platings. If you’re looking for an affordable and decent meal in a cozy environment, I would definitely encourage you to check it out!

This has always been me and my wife's favourite restaurant since our teen. The deco is cosy and warm while the Japanese food fused well with a western touch. However, the service crew was not up to my standard as he kept on asking anything else while obviously we were still browsing through the menu. Nevertheless, five stars for the wonderful foods and I'll visit again.

Shared a few signature dishes at Ma Maison. Join their member and get a 20% discount in bday month. The ambience is always great and one of my top few restaurants to go to for comfort food. Thanks to the staff commitment and great food promised. Squid ink pasta, seafood paella to share among two or three pax, soft shell crab with egg rice. All taste great and did not disappoint. Their tart is my must have. Blueberry apparently tastes great and I prefer it to the fresh fruits. Only thing is u need patience to wait for a table when it is weekend or during peak hour.

Another Ma Maison focused on Japanese versions of western food. It's very popular and there's a constant queue of 30 mins when you arrive. The decor is reminiscent of European cafes. The food was alright and not everything is available. I think the ambience is the big attraction.

One of my favourite place for comfort food. The place is always busy yet we still feel comfortable enough at our own table. Food is good especially their hamburg steak, tonkatsu and scotch egg. Their dessert are good too, especially the brownie and blueberry tart.

Loved everything we’ve tried. Staff were friendly, food tastes good. They serve very delicious fusion dishes, and price is quite reasonable.

Please bring back the dish in my first picture!!! I was introduced to Ma Maison about two months ago and was fortunate to try out that dish (omu rice steak) which apparently was seasonal. It looked so simple yet tasted perfect. Strange to say, it did feel like I was eating a meal out of the Doramon cartoon, and that made me really happy eating the dish. The hamburg was also great - tender and flavourful, though it would have been perfect if it was bigger. To top it off, we tried out the tarts and they were just the best ever. Ambience was cosy and decor was on point too. One of the few perfect meals that wouldn't break your budget. And yes, please bring back the dish!! I went back for a second visit last week and was told that it was not available this time. TIA!!!

One of my favourite cafe restaurant in Singapore! But I would only give this five star to bugis junction outlet! Beef katsu omu rice - 🔥must try! Juicy katsu with curry was so yummy. Creamy cheese was the icing on the cake of this dish. Strawberry shortcake -🍰 I believe you won't be disappointed after the first bite. The taste was way better than my expectation. The sweetness was just nice & the chocolate jam added extra flavour in this cake. Sirloin steak - Better than average western cafe. If you are a meat lover, do give it a try. Hamburger steak - I love the burger taste but im not used to the sauce. Aging Tonkotsu (tried at takashimaya outlet) - Pricy but very less quantity and oily. Taste below average. Dk whether shld give another chance. Seafood paella - worth a try!! (p.s) food quality at takashimaya outlet was way lower than bugis outlet. Suggest to go bugis outlet. Hope ma maison management could do sth to improve standardization of taste among all the outlets.

Simple. I came in order my food for 2 pax. My food bolo pasta is oily fill with pasta on a hot pan. With half a bowl of sauce. N yet after mixing is so dry. Ask staff for additional sauce which is half the standard portion have to cost me $6! Secondly my wife waiting for the tonkasu almost 25mins until arrival late due to one of your staff serve the wrong table who also having the same dish! Without checking the order chip time, table, item. Just sent out. Ground staff never realise the mistake until I point to mistake. Thirdly only two serivce staff working. Until 6pm additional came in. Problem is the one who serve thr wrong table never check which table who is next in state just serve blindly. Tell lady who i think is the manager or supervisor. Didn't bother at all and just walk away. Kindly check what are they doing. Above happen at anchor point. Sad experience. Seriously I never had a super oily pasta before. First time and last time. Never finish return 70% of it.

Food was ok but not up to par with the price. The miso ramen soup was bland, although toppings were good. I would like to give commendations to the staff though, especially the young man at Capitol Piazza branch, as they are very personable and enthusiastic in serving the customers. They earned you the extra star, as the food alone was only 3 star for me.

Originally wanted to have dinner at the Takashimaya Branch. Firstly, we were not greeted at the door. We were rudely told to sit and wait after I approached a staff to get a table. After that, no one came is, as if we were invisible. Several staff also "eyeball-ed" me when I wanted to approach them again. After 10 minutes, got so frustrated and decided to cross over to Tonkichi opposite to have my dinner instead. So much better service over there! Utterly disappointed with Ma Maison, which was one of my favorite places to dine at.

Good service and the staff are very helpful and professional in their job. Whenever u order seafood they will give you a metal container to put your shells to avoid look messy on your plate. This is very awesome

We ordered set lunch that includes a salad, soup, bread, coffee or tea, pasta and dori fish. The dori fish and pasta is so salty, soup is ok. The seafood platter is nice, with rice topped with the oyster on shell. Service not bad, they always filled up our glasses with water.

Food, service and atmosphere is all good. The meat is really tender and really can't complain about anything. The sauce and the egg is nice. I ordered the beef stroganoff btw. The tart is really nice as well although it was 8 $8.80. Definitely will come back again for the meal and the tart!

Excellent food at very reasonable prices.....my party of five were all served water without our asking and was topped up each time the water level in our glass was low without fuss nor extra charge. All the wait staff had a friendly smile on their faces serving us as well! Will visit again for sure!

Hi, I've sent in a feedback 3 weeks ago on the website, and to-date, there is no reply at all, as if my feedback just disappeared. So, here was my feedback 3 weeks ago: My friend and I had lunch at Ma Maison at Anchorpoint this afternoon (Sunday 2 July 2017). My friend ordered a plate lunch set, while myself I ordered the unagi omu rice. My unagi omu rice took forever to arrive, about 25 minutes to 30 minutes waiting time, to be exact. My friend finished eating his plate lunch set, then my unagi omu rice came, after prompting the waitresses twice. We were there at around 2pm, which was already almost the tail end of the lunch crowd. I feel that the waiting time for a simple dish (not even a set) is too ridiculously long. In the end I had to rush for my next appointment due to the long waiting time for my food. If the waiting time is so long for the food, you should have the courtesy to inform me, before I make my decision on whether to proceed to dine in your restaurant, or if there is another choice of food that i could make that is faster. But of course, there is also the possibility that your staff could have forgotten my order and then realised it when I prompted the waitresses. Both scenarios show bad service.

Went to bugis outlet last Saturday. Busy dinner hour. But we got in quite fast. Excellent service and friendly staff

Nice environment and food was not bad.Minus point was the hanging light was too close to the table.

Cafe ma maison at liang court. I was very upset initially but that was being addressed and taken care of by ops manager Serena. She was being very attentive and listened to the feedback, she handled the situation really professionally. I am thankful at last there is a person that is very service orientated and helpful. Serena even managed to win me over to visit your westgate outlet again after I walked away one year ago. I will be back.

I have a late lunch with my BFF at Ma Maison Bugis Junction. After our meal, the waiters forget to serve our dessert. We had to wait almost 30 minutes and I had to ask to serve the dessert for 2 times.

Food was reasonably good and the service were consistent even the restaurant was busy. The average waiting time was very long although we were considered early for a table of 3. Would visit the place again overall.

A different day, another Maison joint in Singapore. Just can't resist this Japanese chain restaurant. Several set meal selections are available, thus, food variety differs depending on season. But it is recommended to ger a set meal if you don't know exactly what to order.

Pork, beef and seafood, in fact, all selections are pretty good. This joint is hidden in a corner close to the food court on the upper floor of Bugis Junction.

I was brought here by my Singaporean friend on my last Singapore Trip, the place is at one corner of Bygis and almost no sign except a queue on its front door at lunch hour. We need to wait 15-20 minutes at the little waiting bench provided before the table is available for us.

When we were guided to our table, we passed a showcase consist of all the pies and it's hard to resist not to look and droll over those colorful handmade creations.

We ordered seafood paella (for sharing), escargot (a dozen for 2 of us), and 2 pies! Strawberry and blueberry. Because 1 is never enough.

Paella came with plenty of shellfishes of few kinds. Green mussels, and then a big ones, then small ones. And prawns. The rice is yellowish but it seems that it wasn't from saffron because its bright color, turmeric may be? The taste is delicious and there are mushroom shavings inside. It feeds 2~4 people nicely.

And escargots! Was cooked in butter and put in a brass plate on top of normal plate, with salt layers in between the plates. Then the waiter put the salt to flame and let the butter on the escargot get warmed up a little bit before we start eating it. The taste is mild, not to salty (how I wish it was saltier) and we can taste and chew the original escargot juice. The escargot meats was tender and smoothly swallowed. Never we regret ordering 1 portion escargot for each of us, and not less..

Then came the pies. The bottom and outer crust is a normal pie crust that is finer than graham cracker crumbs. Then there's this middle layer that tastes like sponge cakes about 1cm thick. Then the fruit layers which is fresh and heavenly. Even the blueberry is fresh and crunchy.

No wonder my friend is a big fan of this restaurant. Shall visit again with my family...

Oh I forgot we ordered caesar salad, which is okay but too much croutons.

They have a variety of set meals to offer which are fairly priced. I have tried garlic spaghetti with mushroom, which was good but could have been better. In the entire menu, i couldn't find anything to cater for vegetarian.

Though I take all variety of food while dining but this was surprising that menu has not a single food for vegetarian.
