Review 328 Katong Laksa - Singapore

Past
I went there at 10:30 am on Sunday, February, but there was no line and it was vacant. The menu is centered around Laksa, and we can choose from small and large size. The small size was $ 6.3. The taste is coconut, but the taste of milk is stronger. It contains shellfish, but I wasn't good at smelling it. Rice noodles are soft and short.

One of the most famous, or original place of Laksa in Singapore. Good for tourist too. Noodle is cut small pieces and soup bananas is very nice. Even if you don’t like coconut, still you can enjoy. Potion is very big, small size is fine ! And spicy level is higher average, be carful for first visitor. I like East Coast road that there are many drinking places, local foods, cafe,,,, Walking around here is recommended.

Laksa portions were reasonable and in proportion with pricing. The taste of the otah and coconut water were okay. Please DO NOT order their dim sum, the charcoal Liu Sha was horrible with a strong plastic smell. Their chilli was also changed probably to suit stronger palates, there was a mala aftertaste in the chilli which isn’t authentic of laksa chilli. Really not up to standard... Their standard of laksa has also dropped.

Tasty laksa, pretty spicy so 1 pack of chilly is good. Try the original big portion good to share with 2-4 people. small portion for 1-2 people. Soup very thick and flavourfull.Add the tofu skin roll in the soup. Yummy.

Average tasting laksa. Self-service where you pay, and collect food at the counter. Laksa, small (6/10) Inflation raised the prices from $5.50 to $6.30. Sambal chili are now served in packets. Laksa rice noodles are chopped to be consumed with a spoon alone. Broth-wise, I would have preferred a richer, full bodied taste with more coconut cream. There was a miserable amount of ingredients (prawns, fish cake), and it felt as though I was simply having noodles with soup. Prawns were tiny, and came in the form of halved quarters. Cockles were tiny, and sparse.

The Laksa broth is fragrant, full of umami goodness and the otah is also great! All self-service here and you can pay at the counter after lining up. There’s an air-conditioned part and an outdoor seating area with fans. Prices are a lot higher than something similarly sold in other Hawker centres and coffee shops but that’s because it’s just delicious. Worth it for me!

This famous Laksa stall uniqueness is “no chopsticks” required (noodles cut for ease of eating with a spoon) and a rich coconut cream taste. Even though it is good but I must say there are other places with similar if not better Laksa taste. If you prefer a reddish Chilli oil and spicier version, then this would taste boring to you. I recommend this for all diehard Laksa lovers though.

feel that this bowl of laksa is very different from the usual I normally have. Packed with rich, full bodied taste, creamy and spiciness with plenty ingredients such as fish cakes, shrimps, cockles. The thick vermicelli is cut into shorter strands, so there are no chopsticks or fork given, only a spoon. A spoonful of laksa so satisfying
