Annie n I had lunch at The Peranakan the 1st time on Saturday July 7. I was not expecting too much but was pleasantly surprised of the friendly n attentive staff especially Ray, Ken and Shirley. We were given a complimentary dish of 'nasi ulam' one of the rare peranakan dish with Shirley, sous chef singing the praises of the dish. We r true blue peranakan n wld rate the food n services here value for money! Come n taste!

Organised a lunch for an alumni group here. The ambience was wonderful! Beautiful wallpaper and furniture. The food was delicious too. We had ordered the Tok Panjang feast. The presentation was gorgeous with a little whimsical fake chicken in the middle of the platter. What a pleasant surprise! The service was top-notch. Staff were polite throughout the whole lunch. Shirley the sous chef even agreed to sign Peranakan songs at our tables. Ken also arranged personalised Tok Panjang certificates for each of us. It was an amazing experience. The staff, the food & the ambience made the event one of the most successful that we’ve organised so far. A big thank you to Ken and his team for making this an enjoyable memorable occasion for us!

If you are truly into authentic Peranakan food then there is no other restaurant that will satisfy you. The menu is extensive and the food is absolutely sumptuous. There is a small museum next to the restaurant with authentic and original Peranakan paraphernalia and if that isn't enough then there's a shop located on the 1st floor with more goodies to browse and buy. I have been there twice with my wife and everything cuts it from the ambience to the authenticity of the food. Two things that are a "Die Die Must Try" is the Nasi Ulam (rice with herbs and served cold) and the signature soursop juice. I would like to thank "The Peranakan" for lifting the standards.

Brought my family to The Pernakan on the 6th August 2017 for lunch and high-tea. In my opinion, this is the most authentic Peranakan restaurant in Singapore. The food is extremely fresh and tasty, the service is top-notch, and the best thing is, it is conveniently located in the heart of Singapore - Orchard Road.

My first high tea here was exactly a year ago. This is my third visit to The Peranakan. Had a sedap nonya high tea with Wendy Foo on 8 August 2017. There was kueh paiti, hae bee hiam roti (bread), ngoh hiang (meat roll), satay babi (pork satay) on kong bak pau, nasi ulam and mee siam for savoury. For sweets it was apom balek, pulut inti and durian pengat served with toast (the penget was too watery though). They were all served in small but substantial portions and served with Melaka kopi (coffee from Malacca). We enjoyed the high tea . The one for one promo at $24++ instead of the usual $48++ made the high tea all the more sweeter.

I brought my American friends here for lunch and it was WONDERFUL. Great food with warm hospitality and smiles, staff were friendly and helpful, and chef Shirley Tay came out and entertained us in between, truly felt like home cooked meals....I really recommend the Nasi Ulam, Kueh Pie Tee, Beef Rendang and the Apom Berkuah. Our favourite! Definitely will come again. Thanks again for making our reunion joyous and fun! <3

Bright, pretty and cheery restaurant with beautiful Peranakan artifacts. Authentic Peranakan food with no MSG and very friendly service. It is one of my regular haunt and everyone whom I have brought, love the place and have made repeat visits. The Hi-Tea is of good value and will let you have a nice sampling of savoury and sweet items. I love especially the mee-siam, nasi ulam and kueh pie tee.
