First time trying Peruvian food with some friends and the food is delicious. Definitely very unique flavours, mostly very tangy. However, portions are small and prices high. We didn’t leave feeling full. I would still return because the food is good and it is a nice casual restaurant to bring friends/date to try.
Came here for lunch on a Sunday. Soo good. We ordered a variety of dishes to share between the four of us. The decor is modern and ambiance casual. All in all a great dining experience. Would return.
Excellent food, presentation and service. The fish was all really fresh and marinated or cooked exceptionally well. Really impressed with how perfectly the octopus was cooked - crunchy bite on the outside, soft, supple, could be cut with a fork tender on the inside. The flavor of the plantain chips, ceviches and rice dishes we had were all really delicious, although a tad on the salty side though.
Always wanted to go Peru, and randomly realised this cosy unique peruvian resto tucked at Duo. Went to just try, and it was amazing! We got the paella and a seafood bowl (possibly) called Plancha De Marisco. The paella was creamy and had a crispy crust on the side. The Plancha was yumz, cause the seafood (prawns, squid, fish) had a nice smoked char, and goes well with the zucchini, cucumbers, and mushroom. Not forgetting the bread to start off though! Spongey sourdough w some special chilli sauce and flakes. Doesn’t sound like a combi, but it’s tasty. The crew was amazing too, extremely warm and humorous, making the experience v comfortable. It is a teeny pricey, but a nice place to try Peruvian flavours. Saw that some ppl ordered cocktails too.
Great dining experience at Tono. Staffs are really attentive and check on us from time to time (clear plates, refill water, etc.). Staffs are also knowledgeable and came out with recommendations according to portions suitable for 4 of us. The food are really good. Flavourful and fresh ingredients. Kudos to the team at Tono for service and food.
[Update] Returned for the 3rd time for dinner. Great service and food are consistent as always. 👍
Based on personal experience of my first visit, staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Most of the dishes were good, save for the last dish (duck confit with risotto if I remember correctly) which came overly salty and we sent it back for another plate.
My other dinner companions liked it lesser as they felt their first visit (a month before) had larger portions with better service and taste. Our visit was a weekday night so it wasn't overtly crowded, but service was a little slow near the end.
Came here on a Sat night, about 10mins before they had their last order. It was busy, atmosphere was lively and setting is quite casual. Service was okay. I dont take crab and they weren't able to accommodate the removal of crab from one of the ceviche so do note regarding allergies or flexibility on their menu.
Good:
Everything we ordered but the plantain w guac would be nice to have a lil more guac. Dessert was good!
Okay:
Octopus - the olive mayo didn't really do much and made it quite heavy
Will definitely return cos the food was pretty good!
Having just returned from a trip to Peru, their cuisine is certified authentic Peruvian quality - i.e. amazing! Their ceviche satisfied my craving and the lomo saltado is also a must try dish!
I will certainly be returning for their pisko sours~
