Walked by this place and decided to try it. Beautiful setting surrounded by a nice garden. Nice to sit outdoors. We had the prawn and scallop ball as a starter. This dish is highly recommended. We also had the beef rendang which was very tender. The fried cod was average and would give that a miss. Service was good and we will come back again.
Beautiful restaurant, colonial-chic feel in the Black-and-White-House, with friendly staff and tasty food! Chop Suey loosely translates as “bits and pieces”, or “off-cuts”, and there is definitely an easy-going feel to the food and servings. This makes it perfect for sharing dishes, not too pretentious, while enjoying typical dishes. For Westerners, this is an easy way to get to know this style of Chinese cuisine, with an emphasis on fried foods. This is a great place out for a family, date-night or team evening.
Lunch to celebrate my daughters birthday, was her choice. We got a table on the outside with a nice view of the garden. Luckily it was a cloudy day :-)
Food was yumm and the service was perfect!
I was doubt when my lady friend asked me to have lunch with her at Chopsuey. ….Turned out, I was so impressed with ambiance of the restaurant, service, quality and taste of each dish. I finished with young coconut panna cotta (the best) and espresso. Can’t wait to go back again.
Came to chopsuey two times in one week for lunch. What I loved about this place is just the variety for vegans and vegetarians right from the dim sums to the mains and noodles/rice. The schezuan chicken with cashew and also the veggie version with tofu were gorgeous. My fav has so far been the cinnamon chicken. The most moist and flavourful I've ever had. The noodles and rice were very good as well. The Penang beef rendang was quite sweet but outside of that dish everything else was absolutely amazing. I'm gonna keep coming back for more!
My friend ordered home delivery. The food came on time. The presentation of the food makes me can’t wait to want to start tasting them and they do tasted good. I also like the various sauces that make the food taste even better. Thumbs up. However, the slice of “cake” (orange double chocolate blackout cake) that we ordered is disappointing as it is actually brownie, not cake and no orange taste and too sweet.
Nice place in a corner. Went there around 4pm. Only three tables occupied. Lunch order stopped at 4pm. Only dim sum and dessert from 4-6pm. Dinner menu resumes at 6pm. More people came during dinner. We sat indoor, the the outdoor seats looked nice n chill. The dim sum is very tasty. Ordered mud crab fried rice too. So so only. The dessert is huge and very chocolaty.
