Fish curry has always be a perennial favourite with my friends and I
And Samy is one of our joints, though it’s been some time, given the choices available.
This visit whilst not a total disaster, it was a letdown. Could it be because of the attention to the “corporate” type customers that the preparation is somewhat fusion and thus “dlluted”. The flavours we sought were somehow no longer there
Tsk tsk
Came with group of 5 ordered fish head curry, tandoori chicken, sambal prawns and mutton curry. Overall food was very yummy but to be frank I expected slightly stronger indian spices. I love the way they serve the food in banana leaves too. I enjoyed fish head curry very much, definitely worth the visit to try this.
This South Indian restaurant isn't fancy, but the food is delicious. Many places slip when they become popular, but not Samy's. You should come several times to try everything
Came to Samy’s in Dempsey Hill with a friend for dinner and we ordered far too much but it was all delish! My personal favs were the mysore mutton, masala chicken and the squid. It’s a bit pricier than average but totally worth it!!
One of the best places in Singapore to have authentic Indian food ,just amazing food ❤️ visited with my family and all thier curries were really good

We were recommended this place by one of the relatives who stays in Singapore. He told us to visit this place for sure.
And really we enjoyed our food here.
You can spend some great time here ordering different dishes. The proportions and the quality of the food is not compromised atall.
My Singaporean brother in law recommended this place because I wanted to have some nice Indian meal, he said it is a premium place for restaurants and truly enough I was really impressed with Dempsey Road... The food here was great.. in fact I overestimated my ability to eat.. I didn't realise that we are getting some vegetables dishes included with any meal ordered so it was really filling.. But just about the dishes we ordered was great .. and as some people say yes this is a must try place ...
No one should visit Singapore without eating at Samy's Curry if they want to experience the old era feel of real banana leaf curry. This is the best place - venue + quality - to enjoy this Singapore standard. Don't expect a bargain here as quality and location come at a premium...but it's worth it! Samy's is always a great place to eat! Yum!
We were recommended this restaurants by one of the staff in Singapore Botanic Garden. Located at dempsey road, the place is bit scruffy but it's clean.
Don't expect fancy table clotchs and fine dining, but just family restaurants that has been serving up authentic south indian food.
The staff were also very helpful, specially great service from Mani. He giving us ideas on how to order, the menu and he could speak bahasa.
We had Fish Head Curry (Small) SGD21,omg if you curry lover don't miss it. The dishes which are served in huge portions, savour, nicely hot and spicy too. I love it,never try something like this before.
Biryani Rice With Vegetable SGD3 served on a banana leaf,it was free flow including the curry and side dish also free flow. The rice so nice and warm.
Chicken Liver (Small) SGD7 & Mysore Mutton (Small) SGD10 is to die for and good combination for biryani rice.
My team mates who came here last year wanted to visit this place again. The ambiance is not very fancy but being westerners, they are enticed by the food being served on banana leaves. The place had a lot of sea food, which I cannot comment on. I ate rice with lentils which was nice, very simple home like food. Coconut water was amazing.
